Rehab Question

mers

New member
I recently severely injured my lower leg and foot. A heavy object fell on the top of my foot, causing a hematoma on top of my foot, in my ankle, and through the muscle around the shin (the one that allows you to lift your foot upwards). After medical treatment, I have lost function of this muscle and can no longer lift my toes or foot. I am scheduled to begin rehab next week.

Does anyone know of any website resources so I can learn some basic rehab techniques? I'm going to leave the rehab to my specialist, but I would like to find out if there are any techniques or supplements that may assist me. I will be discussing any additional supps/techniques with the doc before using.

That would be the "Tibialis" muscle. I would think that they will probably start you out just trying to flex the mucle as much as possible, hoping that eventually that flexing will result in movement. I'd do a yahoo search on "rehabilitation exersises" bro, and see where that leads you. Good luck

I saw an orthopedic doctor today. The problem is called "drop foot", and is caused by damage to the peroneal nerve. I have to get electrical treatment, along with a foot brace and a stretching regimine. I was wrong for thinking this was muscular.
