Reference letters?

Taps

New member
I'm applying to a private university in about a month and it turns out I need two letters of reference. As this is a private school, they have different admission requirements than public institutions. Oh, I'd be transfering from my current university -- I'm not a high school student.

The letters have to come from professors or employers. Now, I can swing one...probably. But there's no way in hell I can find two upstanding individuals who know me well enough to vouch for me. So I'm thinking about a) forging one; or b) getting one of my friends (while pretending to be a former employer) to write one for me. Devious, yes...but I'm not gonna let that stop me. :)

My grades are fine (average is in the mid-90's), and my resume looks good (plenty of experience related to the degree program). I'm just ticked that I need the damn letters to get in.

Any ideas are appreciated.

never forge, they check that shit all the time plus you can get into serious trouble. What you can do is get a former teacher in high school who you got along well to right a letter about your personal character. Also you might want to get your RA if you lived on campus to write one, this works well as the RA knows your personal habits and could vouch for your personal integrity. But try not to forge cause this is your future, trust me there are alwasy peole who can help....

Smalls, no...unfortunetly I'm not very close with any of my profs. I wouldn't feel comfortable asking.

Lord_Suston, great idea. Too bad I've never lived on campus. :(

Thanks to you other guys too.

If i go with a forgery, I know how to work things so I won't get caught -- although I'd much rather have a genuine letter. I'll try to find someone reputable to write one for me, but if not...I gotta do what I gotta do. Oh well.

Well, I could write you a damn good letter referring you. However, it wouldn't quite be the kind of letter to give to a university.

HOWEVER, I have to agree. Don't forge it. It can be checked out too easily, and your name will be mud. Make it honest hun. That's the best way to go.
