Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

October 11 2006
Mood = Pretty good
Soreness = Oh my word.. Hams and Upper back, feels like I have a monkey on my back with two vice grips for hands just grasping my trap and levator!
Weight = 153.8

Food = Hmm

Multi, triflex, saw palmetto, DHEA
M1 1.5C shredded Wheat, 5oz. chicken
M2 almonds 1 ounce
Vitamin C and E, Calcium/Magnesium
M3 5oz steak, onion, mushroom, 2oz. whole wheat pasta
M4 Small Apple
M5 protein (42g), Trac, glutamine, 1 scoop powerade, amino acids
Weights = Abs, and HIIT
M6 protein (42g), creatine, glutamine, 1 scoop powerade
M7 4oz. turkey, onion, lettuce, tomatoe
M8 2T ANPB

Notes:
-Sleep = LACKING... I was still awake at 12:30-1a.m. Was not tired so I decided to go on an organizing frenzy. Wondering if it has to do with taking the Trac later then normal... It does say on the side don't take within 4 hours of bedtime.. I know it wasn't 4 hours but I was wide awake! I guess it's better then horrible dreams, but is counterintuitive as far as muscle growth and recovery.
-Lovely time of month decided to visit.

Here's to the hump day!!

hey i forgot to ask you...did you get alot of guys hitting on you in normal clothes last weekend?? lol
HA... I guess I must be getting old or something.. we were going to go out, but we were go-go-going all weekend long and both of us were exhausted. We didn't really have a day off as we were buying furniture from IKEA and assembling it and just organizing stuff... So rented a movie. We thought it was such a great idea because inside the grocery store they have the automated movie gadgets now. You swipe your card, pay $1, and get a movie.. Yeah... well it was a good movie.. to bad halfway through there was a nice scratch and we were left hanging, and then I turned it back a day late so I paid $2 for that stupid movie. This weekend is a road trip planned so depends if we'll go out maybe friday night.. We'll see ;)

WElllllllll typically it's the step mill.. and probably still will be. I will just be staring the steps the whole time since the legs are uncoordinated right now. As the day progresses I am get more sore.. It hurts to move! back, shoulders (back and mid), neck, hams .. and no yoga class tonight at the gym either!! This is with a 15-20 minute stretching session every day also. Lats are starting to yell now so everything is yelling but the abs.. which are being worked tonight, lol...
So step mill 5 min warm-up, 20 minute intervals, 5 min cool down on tread high incline. Last week I made 2.5 minutes into the warm up thinking what am I doing.. I'm already saying what am I doing and I haven't even got on the thing, or to the gym for that matter... lol

These are the tests that show our commitment. Too many times, I've punked out for some reason or other. :rolleyes:
Good luck with your torture, er, cardio. ;)

Mood = GREAT ;)
Soreness = Better today, THANK GOD, Still stiff here and there
Weight = 153.8, and I feel like I have lost more BF, well pinching myself it feels that way ;)

Food = YUMMY :chomp:
Same, same

Notes =
Cardio yesterday was Ummm WOW... I hit quite a few points I thought I was seriously going to hurl or pass out. Either way I kicked @ss and was taking names. Decided I am being stupid for training abs after cardio. Why train a muscle after cardio.. goes against all sense... So I'm switching that up. Plus takes forever to get the heart rate back down to even want to squeeze the abs after you feel like hurling. After my 5 minute cool down my HR was still at 170!!! So Yeahh no wonder a headache was kicking in.

-Tonight LEGSSSSSssssZzzzzzzzz Quads and calves.... Muhaaaa
They will be at 7 instead of 5:30 like monday but I still am testing out this Trac and we will see. I kept carbs at lunch only up by 15 instead of 30 to kinda of see if it was the carb increase or the Trac.

-O.K. We have a couple winners at the gym of the moron prize... 3 guys at the lat pull down... Small guy getting ready to do his set walking around chest puffed out like "I am the man", he has a seat, buddy is trying to get him pumped "you ready, you ready, Let's go!" Small guy is pumping the bar down, while buddy is practically sitting on the bar to help him pull it down. Buddy is the one doing all the "Umffff,,, Ahhhh" noises, not a peep out of little guy. So makes me wonder who is getting the work-out here?!?! It's definitely a 'couples' work-out!! Ohh but wait.. there is a rally guy also.. He sits on the sidelines going,"Yeahhhh, Yeahhh, get it!" What a team sport he is!

Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

hey tre!! nice job with the cardio....i hit abs or calves sometimes after cardio if i'm feeling i didn't do enough or just have some extra energy. not a big deal i think...just as long as you get in some simple carbs asap!!!

as far as team grunt goes....that is def funny!! i have def noticed that i make a little noise during the last few reps...i noticed b/c i left my ipod home yesterday and heard myself almost making a farting noise lol. apparently i exhale very loudly like i'm trying to blow up a goddamn raft the size of noah's ark

Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

Tre, just wondering if you've noticed any difference since switching over to shredded wheat from oatmeal this week? Less bloat, better skin etc.?

Well it goes back to the whole thing as why would you hit calves or abs on empty? Would you train legs after a bout of HIIT?!?! Why would you train those muscles any differently. Maybe that's why they are lacking on most people because they train them after their cardio session and think high reps, low weight...
Just contemplating the whole idea yesterday that tradition says to train them that way, but is it best?! In my mind I came to the conclusion no.. because I don't think you can put the full potential into them training them that way so the results won't be 'as' great.

Any Input or advice from Sassy or Shadow?!?! how this affects the body on a cellular/muscular level as far as systems used and what the difference would be?

So your nickname should be grunt, eh :lmao:

OCTOBER 13 2006
Mood = Awesome
Body Soreness = :lmao: Uhhh yeah... QUADS, Glutes, calves, some Ham
Weight 152.6

Food = Same
I recalculated out my cals with the added in carbs and all since it seems to be going well. So I see I am at about 2,000 cals a day now, 45%P/25%F/30%C

Weights tonight will be chest and arms ;)

Notes:
-Holy Sh!T!!! Yesterday legs all I have to say is wow.. Must be doing something right here... I went up in weight on everything. 50 pounds on leg press, 70 pounds on Hack squats just to name a few. Definitely hitting PR's next week!!
Left the gym came home and still was bouncing off the walls at like 11:00 last night. So I reorganized my training journal, typed up my strength routine, figured out cals, created a new excel doc for tracking purposes, and then... Layed in bed for 1.5 hours while my legs spasmed and were HOT! Was still up at 2 a.m. Got up at 7a.m. bouncing out of bed. O.k. well stumbbling especially laughing on my way down the stairs as I almost fell on my face... The only thing I can compare this soreness, heaviness, and tightness to would be the days I was running around 25 miles at a time, and was literally crawling to my front door of the house from my car.
-Soooooo JPT I am in love with Trac... It took about 4 days of continuous consumption to finally get this way... I feel like a loaded spring on the stuff though. I mean I was jittery on the way to the gym, once the ipod was rollin, the game was ON!
-I have a new product I am looking at trying after this container is gone though... It's a bit pricier but :evil: I'm killin this fall/winter bulk and aiming to get all the muscle I can ;)
-Hunger has dissipated, food is still on clean as a whistle, and I am ready to get rollin, rollin, rollin to the gym.
-Pants looser around the mid-section, tight as heck through the quads and butt!
-taking measurements, pics for personal use, and body fat on sunday.
-It's even better killin it when a guy I used to date about a year ago just kept hovering around not knowing if he should talk to me or not.. Muhaaa, Not in the middle of my leg work-out!
-OHH and SBT has a chick after her in the gym :lmao:

Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

sombody get this girl some low fat budda b/c she on a roll!!!

great job tre...i couldn't sleep last night either...but that's b/c my dog was scared of the thunder and kep jumping up and down on the bed....poor bastid! lol he's too cute though to get mad at....

so i'm thinking it's prob the trac that's keeping you up...maybe try hitting the weights w/ trac in the am??

totally feeling ya on the ex...i see mine from time to time...sometimes i'm a little obnoxious and drop whatever i'm doing...take my shirt off and start flexing as she walks by

LOL
My female dog used to be scared of thunder she would whimper and then try and worm her way onto my bed. She figured the first half of her body really didn't count as being 'on' the bed.
What kind of dog?
Yep definitely the Trac keeping me up I have that figured out. Well I would go earlier in the day, but somebody uhummmm (sbt) does not get off work till later. I may just take the stuff 2 hours prior to my work-out and try that out. I took it at 6:00, gym at 7:30 yesterday.
Yeah I bet you rip your shirt off and flex.. To funny... I pretty much am just focused on my routine to really care what anyone thinks what I am doing.
One of the trainer's I was talking to earlier in the week for the first time, has a gym in Detroit and I kinda got the feeling he would like me to work-out at his gym because he was saying a lot of competitors work-out there and it's basically a hole with loud music, and chalk every where. He said some guy that looks like Jay Cutler works out there, and a bunch of power lifters, benchers, etc... May have to go just to check out Jay :qt:

Cute doggie by the way!!!

Hey Miss Jens

Gym is going great, Pr's on deads yesterday 290, 5 reps on 4th set. Next week 300, week after I'll PR at 315 (O.k. I'm hopeful)

Cardio tonight.. Switched days around since I begin teaching at the school tues, thurs, and some weekends. Tonight I'll be teaching, and also thursday.

Took pics sunday, measures, etc.. etc... I physically can see a bit of fat decrease in them, more back, arm development. Tape went up about an inch everywhere except hips.

Playing with diet this week, droppin cals on cardio and off day.

Still killin it :evil: Still clean eatin it!

Quads and calves were sore from thursday till monday morning. Abs, hams, glutes are the biggest things sore right now from yesterday.

Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

i don't mean to beat a dead horse....but solid work on deads!

how's the trac coming along?

Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

October 18 2006
Mood = Great
Soreness = Hip flexor, Abs, obliques
Weight = 153
Food = going good

Thanks everyone for the comps ;)
Can't wait 2 see what happens with my leg press weight tommorow :evil: Also,to see DB chest press on sunday.

JPT =
Trac update ;)
Working well still. I will be taking it later and see how back day goes.
I should really see the affects again tomorrow, and measurable ones next week to see if strength increases from this week. I can definitely feel the difference between taking it and not taking it. I did not take it yesterday (cardio day) and I did not get the uhmm.... jittery is not the term I am looking for, pumped, excited, ready to kill it feeling. It wasn't HIIT either so it wasn't lack of excitement for cardio. I am starting to do about 40 minutes long slow distance (4.2 speed around on a tread, though I did ellyptical yesterday) cardio on tuesday's for leg recovery from mondays work-out.
I have noticed though taking it more then an hour before the work-out is just to long of a time span... An hour before works the best for me.

Notes:
May be heading to a body building show this weekend with the guy who took first in the Ann Arbor body building comp show this past summer. He is also a gym owner, personal trainer, and a judge at this show. So SBT and I may be tagging him with a load of questions draining his brain.
We may also meet up with another trainer whom her client took first in my July competition. I am sure she will be there and who knows maybe have someone competing. We'll see ;)

Back 2 work breaking stuff :evil:

Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

Umm i think you forgot today is only wednesday :lmao: So unless you plan on doing leg press on our day off which is tomorrow on my sheet HA you may just have to wait for friday for that leg workout :)

Yup you are correct!

Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

ok i gotcha....i got that same feeling from when i was taking that amp02 stuff...except after the first 2 weeks the effect dissapated. i felt focused and excited....so i guess the product is very similar.

do you ever try and do light cardio after a leg workout? ie treamill for 10 minutes? still not sure if i should do it after the workout or the next day like you mentioned...i did my legs yeterday and they are sore as shit! maybe i'll hit up the treadmill for like 20 minutes after i train shoulders...

sb- i love whne you keep tre in check...that's hot! :p

Nope my leg work-outs are long enough and I stretch 15 minutes at least after every work-out so... the next day cardio is to help flush new oxygenated blood into the muscles to help aid in recovery.

Yeah she thinks she is keeping me in check, but my log keeps me in check.
I let her have a jab here and there.. just because I know how Torturous friday legs will be for her :evil: Remember almost hurling monday well that's nothing girlie, :lmao:

Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

Octoberrrrrr the 19th 2006

Mood= Fine
Soreness = Hmm just stiff here and there, not really sore
Weight = 153

Food = O.k. so I hit up the Barnes and Noble and did some reading. I was previously thinking and stated in here about doing some calorie cycling and I think it is time...
Most days currently I have been keeping cals at 2,000. Now is another mental challenge for me to start increasing those cals more. I did this long math computation and was shocked as to how many cals I should be eating, and how many I am actually eating. I am not striving for these numbers necessarily, but more guaging my body reactions through 1) scale weight, 2)body fat calipers, 3) pictures, 4) clothes fitting.
The math behind all the madness takes into account RMR, Thermic Effects of Food, Activity thermogenesis, Body Fat and Body Mass to give me my fat mass.
Once I punched all my digits in it told me I need to be at 2830 kcal on not work-out days, and 3250 cals on work-out days to put on size.
Now I never take to heart that something I am told is necessarily accurate but just a idea to go by.
So.... I did increase cals to 2,000 about 2 weeks ago now and my plan is to increase cals every 2 weeks by 250 cals (there about) while keeping an eye on what is happening to my numbers in and out of the gym, and my clothes fitting. If at the end of 2 weeks I am getting results that I am happy with I will maintain that calorie intake until a) my numbers stabilize and nothing is happening (increase food), or b) I start adding on BF in which case my cals will go no higher.
On weight days cals will be about 400 cals higher then non-weight days.
Mon/Wed/Fri/Sat/Sun = 2,250
Tues/Thurs = 1,850
This is for the first round...
Again the diet will be clean and I'm still working on the macro's portion.

Thanks Sgt, I was told last year by my trainer,"Are you sure you want to do a figure competition? Maybe I should be training you as a powerlifter?!?" I said,"Uhmmm No." Especially not after I went to a show and this girl walks out in pig tails, and a skirt, and totally did not look right. It appeared she was a man dressing up for Halloween. Scary :worried: Yet mad props for all the weight they can do, just not healthy to me.

Thanks Miss Sassy!! Pizza.... What is that?!?! Yeah I could only imagine eating that before abs. It was bad enough when we used to have softball games and peeps would buy the pies and bring them for us to eat before the game and seems like 2 or 3 girls' would end up with sauce all over their white pants. It was funny looking at the team on the field looked like we had a sauce fight pre-game.

good luck with that tre.....sounds like a good idea to try! eating all those clean cals sucks though. i felt bloated the whole time on my bulk cycle...i was thinking that 2000 cals for your bulk might be on the low side at 153. i weighed 10lbs more then you when i started my bulk at a little under 9%bf....i got to 184 in 5 weeks on a mostly clean bulk...daily calories was 3500 on a 40/30/30. so whatever you reading i think holds some credence

what were you reading by the way? sounds interestring?

Hmm it's sitting on my book shelf at Barnes and Nobles.. lmao... the title was something like "Scrawny to Brawny" I left my cals a bit low for a few reasons... just got back from Hungary and was easily maintaining around 3500 if not more cals a day, wanted to try and stabilize the body out, lose BF a bit, and gain some muscle before I inched my way back up. I knew they were low but geez.. Last year I stayed around 2300 cals in off season. Anyone can eat a lot of food... I just want to add the right weight on. I'm not looking forward to taking a sh!t load of fat off and in the process losing lbm. I want to try and do it smart and not be an extremist on either end.

good idea....i'm slowly taking the bf off right now...i'm in no rush to look good naked lol!!!

i put on weight way too easliy and it takes me forever to lose it....next time i bulk i'll prob keep cals around 3000 instead of 3500...i know i will still gain. i prob should have done the same thing your doing....

OCT 20 2006
Mood = EXCELLENT, it's friday!!!
Soreness = neck stiffness, but other then that... none
Weight = 154.8

Food =
Muhaaa the revolving topic for me...
Clean, but tried something yesterday.. an experiment if you will... So I had added artificial sweetners and dairy into my diet over the weekend. My body hated me for it come monday because I was swelled so much I couldn't even get my rings on over my knuckles. So...... Last night since it again was my no day at the gym day I decided to test this out again using only one variable different.... just splenda. As you can see my weight decided to jump 1.8 pounds over night. So... do I kiss the splenda goodbye, or keep it as a cheat food :lmao: I hadn't added any splenda in the diet from mon-wed, and my weight steadily decreased even on my just plain cardio day (not HIIT, LSD session (not the drug either) ) Water intake was another fluctuating factor I took into account as far as sunday went because it was relatively low. So yesterday I did drink more liquid then I did on sunday to take that variable out. So I'm thinking splenda has enough affects on my insulin sensitivity that it must go.

Notes =
LEGS tonight :evil: ... Quads and calves will be toasty.... Come on PR's! ;)

Uhmmm I did like that book I mentioned to JPT, another classic is Arnold's 3 or 4 inch Bible he wrote. I try to steer away from the everday 101 fitness books, and go straight to the source, bodybuilding. I honestly just pick books up and flip through them looking at exercises and variations, and read about diets... So I kinda use the whole section. Get my blue and yellow tea and camp out on the floor usually next to the shelf with a pen and paper. I sometimes also go to the local library and lazy around in a chair reading. Yes I'm a nerd, but I enjoy it. What specifically do you have in mind that you want to do? I mean what type of program are you looking at switching too, diet that you want to go on, what is the goal at hand to achieve? I'm sure I'll be back again this weekend and I'll keep you in mind.

Nope not artificial junk any more... If I do very limited here and there. If I'm going to bloat over the stuff I have it figured that I my as well have the real thing once in a blue moon, ya know..

PR'sssssssssssss I actually need to look up my old PR's on leg press... I'm not sure what it is.. but I think it will be quite the jump if I tag that one tonight.

Very interesting find about how your body is reacting to Splenda...I have a 5 packet/day max limit on it for now but am monitoring that closely to see if I need to drop it down.

I'm going for a full blown holistic food allergy/intolerance test on Tuesday so I'm curious but also scared to learn what my results will be. It would suck if some of my fave clean meals have to go. But I'm going to be a dork and take my own "special" foods to be tested like splenda, stevia, ON whey, Ezekiel cereal, almond milk etc. I don't need to know if I'm allergic to white flour and other processed crap that I don't eat on a daily basis.

On my end, I took out egg whites this week and I'm noticing quite a difference in end-of-day bloat. I can actually still see lines on my stomach at the end of the day now whereas before I would actually have a little pooch. So I think that's one of my culprits, but I think there are more :rolleyes:

I haven't had any egg whites in awhile, thinking about adding those back in actually. We'll see.

Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

I am so friggen sore it's not even funny... I'm talking more sore then a soreness I have been exposed to in probably over a year... I railed the quads so much on friday that yeah they feel it... I'm not sure if I hit any PR's. I don't think I did because I think I still did more on leg press last year. I only hit 590 plus whatever the sled weighed for 8 reps on my 4th set. I think 650 was the max last year. I'll be plus that probably next week. I would like to hit 750 this year. I can no longer do calf raises on the smith because 405 on my shoulders is just not good for me and my spine any more, so I'm switching that exercise to the leg press for calves.
Went to a bodybuilding show today with one of the judges. He's going to help me out with my posing, and other things I may need help with. I trust his opinion because he has taken first at numerous different BB shows, most everything that has come out of his mouth matches what Shadow and Sassy has ever taught about diet and training, he puts on his own show in Ohio, has trained with the pro's, is going for his pro card here early next year, and what I said previously is a judge for BB including figure. I may even hit his gym he owns a few times a month for one on one training. Going to try and work out a deal to do massage trades for personal training sessions and posing for both SBT, my other friend who I am also training for a show, and myself.
Plus diet is going to be adjusted...... closer to what Shadow has recommended to me in the past after my competition but continuously increasing calories.
So once I get it all straight I'll post it up.

Well I just finished a kinda sorta bulking program. Not really bulking since I had excess bulk anyways, but lifting heavy.
Now I wanna keep the strength I gained & lose bodyfat.
I'm gonna start on Monday, so I have tomorrow to figure it out.

Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

Excellent chest and arm work-out today. No Pr's but... next week there will be ;) Quads are still sore today, but I think they are healing... Tomorrow is DL's all over again, yippee

Hidn... Haven't had time to read been running all weekend.. I would just up HIIT training, keep your protein high, start decreasing the carbs and fill those cals in with fat.. Just keep on training like you would during your bulk. The only thing I really look at switching or different from bulk to cutting is mainly food, and drop out my strength phases (low reps)... Lowest I think I went last year was like 8 reps...
Maybe that'll help ya!!

I'm changing my diet a little like that, but basically a little more protein & a little less carbs.
My low rep sets have been 3 reps, so I'm def gonna be changing that. Less sets per exercise, more reps per set.
Def more cardio, because I've really been slacking in that area. Did cardio twice last week & I think that was the first time since my last bike ride over a month ago. :rolleyes: Basically HIIT. No lnger than 35 min, including 5 min cool down.

Dam skippy it was an excellent workout :D I was particularly impressed by the unassisted pull up and dips!!! Oh yeahhhhhhhhhh I can't wait for tomorrow :lmao: (that is what I am supposed to keep telling myself right, LOL, so that maybe one day I'll like leg workouts too)

October 23 2006
Mood = good, tired
Soreness = across shoulders, tiny bit still in the quads, calves (shoulders was sat)
Weight = 155.6

Food = o.k. so I think I have it figured out for the next 2 weeks.

DHEA, Saw Palmetto, multi
M1 = 5oz. chicken, 1 1/2 C shredded wheat
M2 = 1 oz. almonds
Vit E and C, triflex, calcium/magnesium
M3 = 1 oz. walnuts, 6oz. chicken, lettuce, mushroom, onion, 2/3C peas
M4 = 1 small apple
M5 = protein : ~40g, 1 scoop powerade, Trac, 2.5g glutamine, amino acids
Weights
M6 = protein : ~40g, 1 scoop powerade, 2.5g creatine, 2.5g glutamine, amino acids
M7 = 4oz. lean turkey, lettuce, mushroom, onion
M8 = 1 scoop protein powder, or egg whites and 2T PB
2100 cals Macros 50% protein, 22% carbs, 28% fat
SBT double check that 4 me... please.

On non weight days the cals will decrease. Still have 2 get that one together. Probably the same above minus the Trac, and power ade.

Here's to another week of PR's ;)

have a good monday!

Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

October 24 2006
Mood = T-I-R-E-D, and headache, blah
Soreness = I feel like I have been beat up... My calves from last thursday toasty, upper back, shoulders, hams, GLUTES, chest tight, TRI's
Need more sleep for recovery...
Weight = 155.6

Tried falling asleep last night and I was dragging @ss all day yesterday... and all I could do was lay there in my achey pain and couldn't sleep. So a nice glass of red wine (yep it's clean - anti-oxidant loaded, and good for the heart) ;) a little conversation.. and then I went night night

Food = good

Tonight long slow distant cardio session (45 min)

Dropping the Trac and powerade today about 210 calories drop so at 1900 today.

I'm not counting a new PR yesterday... If I would have had more dang sleep, and not a killer headache I think I would have hit it no problem.
Tried 2 sets for 305 I did 4 not perfect stiff leg dead lifts 3rd set, and tried 3 on 4th set.. none of them do I count.. So next week...
If you don't know 305 is FRIGGEN HEAVY!!! Oh my word... Ahhhh

Anyway hope all is well with everyone :heart:

Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

Good morning,

Good try on the PR's though!!! Headache too eh, hmmmmm...... What is going on??? everybody has one, I honestly wonder if it is the beginning of a bad flu or somthing.

Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

Trel....are you keeping the knees locked or stiff?

Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

treilin said:
Stiff not locked. I think locked would hyperextend the knee joint.

Yeah..that depends on the relative length of upper/lower body - ratio stuff.

If you are finding that stress is slowly moving form the hams to the back - try Keystone deads:

With barbell in hand, poke both your butt and belly outward. In this position, you look kind of like one of the "Keystone Cops" you see in the 1920s movies. This variation of stiff-legged deadlifts has thus become known as "Keystone Deadlifts."

This seemingly strange position will pre-stretch your hamstrings because of the forward tilt of your pelvis the position entails. Then, while maintaining this position, slowly lower the barbell to around your knees, keeping the bar close to your legs during the descent and ascent.

You must NOT go more than an inch or two below your knees. By the time you reach your (slightly unlocked) knees, your hip joints have fully flexed, and any further lowering of the bar is accomplished ONLY through eccentric hyperflexion of your spine -- a NO-NO!

You will feel a decided "burn" in your hams and glutes when keystones are done correctly. You should feel virtually no discomfort or stress in your lower back.

If you do, experiment with the movement until you feel no discomfort at all. Invariably, a slight adjustment in your position will correct the problem.

The nice thing about doing stiff legged deadlifts this way is that you can use a far heavier weight, thereby getting better adaptive stress applied to the targeted hamstring muscles. All without any low back trauma at all!

^^Try those next time...

Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

I think I do the ^^ keystone deads...butt is more as in a > position as I see myself in mirror...

O.k. so I start the exercise with my butt stickin out, lower bar to no more then a couple inces below the knee then back up to the butt stickin out.
Right...

Mood= good
Soreness = back, glutes, bit in upper traps, abs (not as bad as last week in the abs)
weight = 156.6

Food = the same

Tonight= Back day

2 Creepy guys at the gym last night on friggen calf machines side by side. SBT and I were doing hanging lat stretches and obviously I have a mirror in front of me and can see everything behind me. Well the guy was looking at his friend and acting like he was uhmm... doing me on the calf machine and his friend was laughing. So SBT comes over and I told her and she said,"Yeah they did that to me too." Blehhhh they were not that great looking and got some dirty looks that's 4 sure. People wonder why women don't want to work-out. Either the men do that stupid stuff, or the women go looking like make-up hussy's asking for it and ruin it for the rest of us. Funny though u mention sweats. There is this guy at the gym that thinks he's all that... Well everytime SBT and I see him he wears the same dang sweats. I mean day after day. So now he is dubbed 'Sweats'
