FEB 21st
Finally done, passed the second test with a 97% and have all my requirements met, YIPPEEE The director asked me to speak at graduation so now I have to put that together...
Friday's work-out was good, had a massage saturday morning.
Body fat dropped to.... I think he said 27%, it was at about 32% according to him last time. He was pretty impressed with everything so that's good. He also said I put on 3 pounds of lean muscle so that's better yet :)
I'll get monday's weights posted up tomorrow. I did a.m. cardio both yesterday and this morning. Just long slow distance stuff for about 45 minutes.
This evening I have upper body weights. I may drop intervals and just do the slow long distance. With the strain from the heavy weights, and plyos I'm doing my knees are taking some wear and tear... so we'll see.

Sure I'll try taking some if not today sometime this week. I'm doggie sitting and walks are priority or else I will get no sleep! I'm also writing up my speech for graduation, and organizing my client files.
Although last night was bad because I couldn't fall asleep I was up till midnight on E-bay of all things!
No silly dreams so far this week.
Oh except this one I just remembered... I was supposedly married to some guy in my dream and he was cheating on me in front of my face with some other chick and I started banging my head against the wall and for the life of me couldn't remember when I got married, or to why did I marry this guy?! I was thinking to myself in the dream, what was I thinking getting married again and now I'm going to have to get another divorce. It sucked.

Thursday 23rd
O.k. I posted some pictures in my gallery. I really need to work on my skills I totally suck at that. It would help if I had someone who I would let do it.

Did my long slow distance cardio this morning. I've been up since 3:30 because the furry little doggy had to go to the bathroom and I couldn't fall back asleep. So I was writing my speech and he kept huffing anad puffing because I had the lights on and he was trying to sleep.

I miss my baby! :( He's chilling at my P's, my mom wouldn't let me take him to me new condo b/c he 'needs a back yard' ... and b/c she's lonely.

Anyway, back looking thick ... size on the arms/shoulders as well, I went through your pics from last year up til now. :)

Last March your legs were skinny :) Looks like you're developing the quad :) ... Keep up the great work ;) :heart:

Thanks lady... Yeah the legs still need a lot of work. I think it will be a few years to develop those up. The ab section I think is just a leaning out process for me. I definitely have the apple shape and that's where I gain it first. I have high and wide hip bones, short waisted, with long legs, I don't think I have the perfect genetic frame but I'll take what was given to me and work with it.


So I discovered something new this morning. I forgot to take my DMAE yesterday. I was sitting here about an hour after I ate my first meal hungry, anxious, and wanting to go eat whatever. So I sat and thought why and what did I do different?? Then I remembered, and I took my DMAE and 20 minutes later everything subsided. Hmmmm.... I think I see the necessity of this in my program.

O.k. well that blah feeling and food junk eating came into play last night. I really don't want to join that club you all started. Only 4 hours of sleep last night and I have to train with the trainer at 3:00 I'm looking to cardio breeze!!!
I just did a.m. yoga stretching and it helped quite a bit. I don't feel as tight today since I did that routine 3 times this week.
In the mean time I'm hunting down a coffe maker because I need it!

Your pictures look really good! You can tell that you have definitely gained some muscle and filled in quit a bit. Plus, you are leaning out nicely! Great Job girl!

Trainer suggested I stop intervals because of my knees aching and stiff and told me to add in 25 minutes stretching-yoga, and 30 minutes speed walk on treadmill. So mon, wed, and fri I'll be doing that for a.m. segment, and tues, thurs, sat 30 minutes treadmill and 15 minutes elyptical.

So that's what I did this morning.
Trainer will be at the Arnold this weekend and attending conferences there so I won't have him on friday.
I was supposed to head down just for the expo all day on saturday but I'm not sure yet. The other two girls and I haven't chatted much about it, and I'm dog sitting.

I sent you that Shadow data...
LLP (Low Leg Press) Hack Squat. Hack squat machine, doing only partial reps(to just a little below 90 degrees) instead of full reps. My trainer try's to isolate individual muscles and burn them out. For this one he is isolating just the quad focusing on the Lateralis to get me a better sweep. Some things he likes to do full range of motion, but because certain muscles only have a certain degree of movement (ROM) he doesn't want me going past that degree and kicking other muscles in while that one he is focused on relaxes, like glutes and hams in this instance. It's hard to stay focused on one muscle. Like I have no problem going down thinking of firing the quad, but on the way back up I also need to fire the same muscle. Sometimes the glutes and hams want to take over. So the need for partial reps is to keep the individual muscle under constant stress. Also, this helps protect my knees to a certain degree, even though the movement has me in a somewhat comprimised position (knees bent past toes). So this is another reason he dropped the intervals trying to not stress my knees out to much.
He comes up with his own work-outs. Believe me other trainers come up to me and ask me what Mike has me doing now. They started laughing when they seen me doing plyos but now they have their clients doing them also.
Another is laying in the middle of the gym with a 45 pound bar across my hips and 25 pounds on each side doing weighted pelvic raises. As stupid as some of the positions can make you feel because people stare I just go out in wander land ignoring them. Also I really like that one because in between sets I leave the bar across just below the ASIS and hit my hip flexor attachments and I get an awesome stretch.

Anywho I'll put yesterdays weights in here later today.

Same here,I go tonight and do legs and glutes and well I'm sitting here thinking of the best place in the weight room to do this where i"m not in anyone's way. LOL

Thanks. It's funny because my goal isn't even to lean out right now :) . The diet switch to a 40/30/30 I think is what did it.

So.... Wierd stuff at the gym yesterday. I asked one of the trainer's who happens to be a black guy if he was going to the Arnold. He said,"No", and kept joking around about how tough I was and then threw in about going out on a date with him. Of course the whole context of the conversation he was in a joking and totally can't take him serious mode. Like normal when I talk to him. Well I started laughing and said,"Uhh yeah right...." Then his face dropped to serious and he was saying, "You don't laugh in a guys face when he asks you out on a date!" Then I was like,"Uhhhh Kkkkkkk." I had like what the hell kind of response did you expect expression on my face?! Then I think he was being serious. You don't go from being silly to being serious and you don't ask someone out on a date like that!!
Then after the wierdness I was finishing up my work-out and two other black guys were doing chest press behind me and one stops over and asked me something. So I took my headphones off and was like,"Sorry, I didn't hear you!?" He said,"I was just wondering where I could get one of those logs that you use?" I said,"I get this from my trainer." He said,"I know!" I'm like o.k. get yourself a trainer! I was nice and said,"Go to the EAS website I think they have some forms on there." He said, EAS?" I'm like you know protein powder, bars....!?" He said,"Oh yeah, yeah, yeah... Thanks." I smiled and said,"Your welcome", and put the headphones back on. I think it was a night that black guys were attracted to me because there were only 3 black guys in the gym! I've noticed though black guys have more balls to go up and ask a lady out then white guys do! They are less scared of rejection or they have more confidence or something is going on there.....
Then I usually get the white guy coming up to me who didn't have the balls in the first place laughing saying,"I think that guy was hitting on you"... and then that's his way of making small talk to try and get a date.
The black guy opens the door for the white guy to finally make a move...
If only the white guy would just say something to begin with then I wouldn't look at him like he's lacking a set.
Anyway... I'll post yesterday's weights up later...

My trainer walked by last week laughing and said,"It looks like you fell under the squat rack and can't get up!"
If you do do them... you can even stretch your arms over head and try and keep your lower back against the floor.

That's an idea or I'm may be able to do them in front of the DB racks. Hell they all should be use to my weirdness. I'm one of the only women that lift as heavy as I do. WHen I first started there I got lots of weird looks and snickers and dirty looks from the younger pink db ladies you know ther cardio queens. LOL NOw they are pretty cool with me for the most part. SO to see me doing something else strange they will probably just shake their heads and move on or ask me what I'm doing and try it. Who knows!! LOL

So yesterday evening I did my plyos and ab and lower back work.
I tell you it must be the week of guys hitting on me. Yesterday it was some white dude in his mid 40's who obviously was looking for a date.... Ummm yeah so not in the mood for that one. Of course he was talking to me while I did my weighted pelvic tilits with this stupid smirk I wanted to punch off his face. Then some hotter guy my age was looking at the 40 year old like what the heck is that guy thinking... Ohhh but before I even got the squat rack this Asian dude was sitting there revving himself up to do a bicep curl with the squat bar. He kept walking up to it and then tapping it and walking backwards and walking up to it.. over and over.. I finally said to him,"Are you going to use that bar or play with it?" Totally was thinking of that other page Bunny! I' think I''ll post that one in there!
So today was a.m. cardio.. Wasn't in the mood but I did it.
Tomorrow will be a crazy day again....

It's got to be something! I tell you.. I was glad I didn't have to go to the gym yesterday evening. I was running quite low on fuel. Well kinda am today also... I ate a piece of garlic bread and some light popcorn last night and I still feel kinda fuel depleted.

Did a.m. cardio forcing myslef to go at the higher speed even though my body was saying go at a slower pace. So my brain overpowered the body this morning!
30 min tread 4.5, and elyptical at level 5
Tonight is heavy legs with no trainer :( He already left for the Arnold. I like when he is there at least spotting me on my leg press. I always feel like that sled is going to come down and smash me if he is not sitting right there. Mind over matter. Already picturing myself doing them with nothing going wrong. I believe if in your mind you visulaize you can do it, your body will do it. It's all in how you program the brain.

Getting taken out for lunch today by my co-workers for my graduation party. I asked for a place with chicken and salad. I really haven't been in the mood to eat any bad food, and the sweet tooth is totally gone THANK GOD!!!!

I agree when I'm about to do something I step back real quick and visualize what I want to do and go for it.

O.k. I had a greek salad with grilled chicken and hardly no vinagrette dressing, and Ohhh my word my stomach is so pissed at me! I guess I should of held the olives and feta! I my as well go stay in the restroom!

So the Arnold Classic was a lot of fun! I have pictures but I'm not at home to upload them of Mr. Arnold, the Hulk, Ms. Brant, and I don't remember who else.
It was a nice get away. I also met Sassy :)
Lost Superqt's # :( I know I had it on that paper and I couldn't find the paper!
Anyway So today is leg day. I bought a brand new pair of pro lifting straps from the expo so we'll see how they work out. I also was getting cheered for how long I could stay on that bull at the expo! The guy couldn't get me off... Muhhaaaa All the pre-training I did over the winter at the bar!
Still feeling pretty sore and stiff. The first time I will admit I'll be glad when strength is over because this cycle is tearing me up!
I hope everyone had a good weekend!

I think it's kinda funny because he can critique women because he can't have them. So if he tears them down it makes him feel like more of a man and better about himself. Well you could pick it and eat it I'm sure he would really get grossed out then, and don't forget eat a lot of eggs beforehand and gas him out :evil:

So I totally was wondering if this was going to happen. I went with 4 other girls from the gym. 3 of which are competitors. One (Bridgette) is not competing this year. The other one (Staci) will be competing with me, and Lisa the other one hasn't figured out which one she is doing. Well I was working on Bridgette (massage) and Staci was laying on the couch and leaned over and was trying to get my attention and was poking me in the leg. Mind you I always wear baggier clothes to the gym. She said,"Oh my word your legs are so hard!" I was kinda like,"Yeah I work-out?!" She said,"No I mean really hard!" and started feeling my legs through my jeans (which are baggy). Then a little later she mentioned your lats are so thick. I was like,"O.k. is that a good thing or a bad thing?" She said,"A good thing!" I said,"O.k. well thanks." She said,"Bridgette come here and look at her lats!" Bridgette turns around and said,"Yeah she has nice lats." I was wearing a long sleeve t-shirt and they were guaging my lats through a t-shirt.
At the gym Staci walked by and said,"I hope you are in a strength cycle because that's a lot of weight." I told her I am but didn't tell her that that was only my warm-up set. So she walks by a few minutes later with her mouth open and said,"You are doing more weight?"
I think Staci is freaking out and I really don't want her too. I mean she took first last year in her comps, and she was the one at 8% bf. I really would like to have someone here that we can talk to each other about the mind games and dieting down effects but at the same time I don't want her feeling like that and telling me because I feel uncomfortable about it. What would you girls do?

Just because YOU are doing heavy weight, doesn't mean SHE has to. She needs to understand that you are VERY strong and you probably train heavier and more intensly than she does. It doesn't mean she should feel insecure though. Shit - if she was 8%, I'd say she knows what she's doing.

Maybe you could have a "what works for me, may not work for you" conversation?

I was so hungry this morning!!!

Scorpio = I totally agree with you. I was actually thinking about talking to my trainer and having him give her the talk. I think it would cause less friction, and he could act like it was his own idea. He may already have! I mean he brought it up to me back in December about certain issues that could arrise from me doing a show with some other girls in the gym.

Unless like I'm reading that wrong sounds like she's sizing up her competition and realizing you're a threat to her ... it is afterall a comp ... and you're having this very pheromonal impact lately ... maybe it's affecting her too.

I don't know... Could be. She is a very sweet girl and I wouldn't want her not doing her best because she is telling herself that she is scared of the competition. Again I try and only compete against myslef. As long as I do better then where I started I am happy. I think because maybe she won one competition she is more apt to compete against other people. I dunno.

Lou is so great! He actually seems to look better this yr than in the past - he's like 52 now. He's not as big, but then he doesn't need to be. Arnold also looks better this yr (and I say that from up close ;) ) And treil! OMG you totally threw me off! I was so stressed out in that dumb booth for 2 days. It took some friends & a lot more stress to get things back into perspective between sat night & sun, but it did. I'm just sorry I didnt' get to catch up with you more and also at dinner w/ the other EF'ers. You are so cute!

Thanks! It was great to finally meet someone on here. I knew you were pretty busy and I didn't want to keep you from what you were doing, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to meet you! It was funny because I knew you had blonde hair because of your pictures from your show last year, but I wasn't real sure about the face. I didn't see any other blondes around so I figured you were you! I wish I would have had the dinner with you all. I wasn't aware there was a dinner or else I would have came!
Lou looked pretty hot, and I agree I think Arnold had it going on especially with that Cali tan!

I was supposed to just do cardio... but honestly I think I need a mental day.
Tomorrow is my last heavy strength day and it's on legs so I figured I would be nice and ready to kick some butt!
Ohhh I got told I looked like a Cali girl yesterday! I started laughing. Cali, eh... Not Michigan. Hmmm

Anyway today I feel like my head was thrown against a wall all night. No a.m. cardio. I have one of those sinus stuffed up head headache things going on. I'm sure it has to do with the 60 degree temp outside, and raining all night because boy the weather has sure changed from being in the 30's.
So I may see about doing my cardio at lunch time.
Last day of strength. I never thought I would say this, but YEAHHH
I think 4 weeks of any one cycle is just about enough for me. Tonight I train with the trainer. Yesterday's conference gave me a huge headache. I hate people that think they are too good, and pompous. I said a comment yesterday that I don't take back, but my boss and his boss, well and his boss all looked at me like "Did she just say that?" and of course the comment was directed to all of their boss :) Muhhhaaaa, Then the guy started joking with me and then their faces all relaxed. I think they worry to much about sucking @$$! I don't do that very well at all. I like to joke around everyone takes things way to seriously. Seriousness for me is kept in the gym!
The rest of the time it's all a game.

Great way of looking at life!!! Ugh with spring in the air sinuses are gonna get worse I hope it clears up real quick for ya.

Oh I did that pelvic thrust thing with the barbell and weights and going to do it again tonight but I have question. When you do it did you get sore right below your hip bones from the bar laying on it or what or am I doing something wrong here with it? :)

It can get a little sore. It might be a little too much weight to just rest on that area off the bat. You may have to work up to heavier weights. Could just start with the bar. Again I only do it one day a week, so if they are sore now and you are going back for more... they probably are going to be still sore and may want to give it a rest day.
Ohhh and this week was great. Some guy decided to carry a 45 pound plate over my head. I'm like are you f*cking kidding me! If he happened to drop that thing??!!!! Again I think I had twice the amount of gawkers this week. I just close my eyes because I try not to think what they are thinking!

It's not sure now just for a couple days after I did it last week. I started out with the bar then only added 20lbs no biggie. And that was 10 at a time each set with only 3 sets total. I was thinking of putting on the squat pads to see if that helps. When I did it last week hubby looks at me when I get up and shakes his head and smiles and says man that doesn't even look right. I said like I care. It works!

People just don't use their heads sometimes. Like the other night there was a couple in there newbies. They were all over each other in the gym. It was like watching a live porn show. :worried:

Awesome! Yeah.... We don't have to much porn stuff going on in my gym.. Thank goodness!!! The only reason I don't use the pad is so I can get the bar into the groove under my ASIS's. The pad would prevent you from doing that if you are looking at stretching them in between sets. If you are looking at just strengthening your lower back then the pad shouldn't be an issue.

My graduation ceremony is tomorrow and teh director of the school asked me to give a speech... Do I know what to say, nope! The other doctor that got asked already tagged the speech thanking everyone. I'm like great..... He took the easy one out. So I'm thinking about making mine silly and hopefully make people laugh.
Saying stuff like You know you're a massage therpaist when.... You look past how pretty or handsome someone is and see them as a huge postural distortion that you can somehow fix. I was thinking about adding in funny incidents that occurred while we were in school. Like me getting hit in th ehead iwth afrisbee and my head getting this huge goose bump on it... or the girl that every time she layed on the tabel felt the need to fumagate a room... It was worse then going into a gas chamber in the military.
