Red Nose

I seem to be having a problem recently with redness on my nose. I have had it on the nostral area for a while but has now spread to the top surface of my nose as well (I think this may have been set off my getting a little sunburned on my face a few weeks back).

I have been using Nivea products recently but the facial wash seems to irritate further and my nose all shiny and the moisturiser makes my skin look all greasy and shiny.

I dont know if this is acne related, I have never really suffer from this or spots much but have a spate of them recently.

Anyone got any advice on this?

Do you drink alot of alcohol?

I do drink a little, but not much more than once a week at the moment. I have had a heavy couple of years previously though when I was at college I used to go out a get drunk quite alot.

With chronic use of alcohol, the face and nose will sustain flushing and appear red, but Im not sure if thats it. Best to have that checked out if you have health insurance...

Im in the UK so I can get it checked for free, thats if I can get an appointment.

Im starting to think it may be acne related, I had a couple more spots on my forehad last night. So I didnt put any moisturiser on or anything else. My nose seems a bit better this morning but my skin still seems a little greasy which is weird for me because Ive always had very dry skin. Im going to try some spot cleaners and see what happens.

Sounds like Rosacea. Intense pulsed light is said to cure that.

Hmmmm... Is your nose bleeding, or have you been sniffing any red ink pads?

I'd cut out the Nivea cleansing routine until the redness goes away, and maybe put some neosporin or polysporin (abti-bacterial creams to control redness and swelling).

You prolly had an allergic reaction... it happens... and.. I wouldnt be too concerned. Hope it gets better fast!
