In the meantime take a spoonfull of mylanta before bed to cure.
I agree with bowtech ,stomach bile (acid) will eat up the Esophagus.I would get it checked if it continues.

I have reflux and it sounds like what you have. Go to the doc because untreated it can cause serious problems even cancer. The best pill to get is pariet at 20mg a day. Take one a day and you'll never get a symptom again. They are prescription.
Same deal for me a few years back. Prescribed Nexium by the doc and within about 7-9 days i was feeling great, although i had to sleep on an inclined pillow for a week or so to help alleviate some of it.
The stuff works like a charm though and I haven't had any relapse of the symptoms so hit up the doc and that's a slam dunk office visit for those guys.

I used to have a pretty serious reflux problem as well. Used both Prilosec and Aciphex (not at the same time) and they both worked. Although Prilosec (Nexium is better and from same mfg) seemed to work better for me.
Anyway, a few years ago, I modified my diet. . .more protien, more fat, less carbs (for muscle-building and general health purposes) and, with the exception of a couple of times where I got into the Kentucky sour mash a little heavy, I have had absolutely ZERO heartburn. I used to have it pretty much every day, now NONE. . .EVER.
