Record???

Recruit

New member
My dad is 55 years old and has never done AAS. Monday he lifted 315lbs. for 8 reps, 355lbs. for 3 reps, and 370lbs. for 1 rep. He currently weighs 185lbs. And no, he wasn't wearing a shirt. I thought this might be some kind of state record at least. I'm located in AR. but I can't find much info on the net.
What do you guys think?

Damn, thats fucking awesome.

According to usapowerlifting.com in the mens bench press nationals age 55-59

181lbs
1st place was 402
2nd place was 305
198 pounds
1st place was 342
2nd place was 335

So unless im reading this wrong, and your dad went into the 198 pound class, hes a record setter?

look up federation, such as APA, check for records there and any other federation, some have records posted some don't

your father is likely to set world records if he finds the softer records and with a shirt may beat even the best ever, what is his max one lift ?

At his age he has to do several sets before doing a 1-rep max. Although this takes a little bit off his max, it also keeps him from injury. 370 lbs. is his personal best, but he has never tried a shirt before. His diet is better than ever and it is helping him get stronger. I'm hoping he will reach 400 lbs., but he has got to be very cautious moving that kind of weight at 55 years old. My personal best was back in 2002, when I maxed out at 485 lbs., but I was 26 and weighed 235 lbs. So, pound for pound my old man is still blowing me away. Thanks for the responses, and I'll keep checking up on those records.
