I'm reading a book by Charlie Franics (Ben Johnsons coach) and he talks about how tricky it is to pass drug tests using Testosterone. He talks about the Rebound Effect, this is when you disscontinue the Testosterone, since this is such a shock to your system your body can actually produce more testosterone naturally then before and make you fail a drug test even when you've been safe an been off for a while. He documented 3 cases:
Athlete 1: stopped taking test-prop 3 weeks before a track meet. Failed the drug test for ratio of 17:1.
Athlete 2: stopped taking test-suspension 2 weeks before a meet, Failed the drug test with a ratio of 11:1
Athlete 3: stopped taking test-suspension 3 days before a meet, and passed the test with a level of 2.4:1.. The same athlete at the same doseage stopped taking test-suspension 9 days before a meet, and failed with 12:1.
This is very strange, If anyone knows any information about the Rebound Effect, how to stop it, or avoid it, please chime in! Thanks!
