Real sore day after injection

Zoomster said:
Occasionally I have hit a blood vessel or nerve when injecting.
When this happens to me, I am much more sore than normal and
I develop a small lump. Every time, the lump has been worse on the second or third day and then begins to subside.

I caused this once by injecting 3cc's into one site, which I never do now and another time I hit a nerve and pushed through, which caused some trauma and swelling.

My rule of thumb is that if there is no redness or discoloration and if the lump is stable and not growing, it will probably go away.

If you don't have a fever and it doesn't appear to be infected I would give it 4-5 days. If it is still there and not subsiding..time for the doc.

I thought the same thing about a nerve or a blood vessel, but would I not have felt that when the needle went? I don't know. The injection was painless, and the soreness did not start till the day after.
By the way guys, thanks for all of this feedback. It is well appreciated.

If you hit a nerve I would definitely think that you would feel it, I know that I did but it was not excruciating pain I just pushed through and did the injection. A blood vessel, not necessarily.
We all have different tolerances for pain.

Your situation definitely sounds strange. I would still give it 4-5 days, especially if your not feeling sick, have no redness around the lump and if the lump is stable.

Ultimately, you have to be the judge. Good luck, bro, hope that works out ok for ya.

Often in a case like this it is a hematoma (lit: "mass of blood"). If you hit a blood vessel you would not usually know at the time of injection. The collection of blood distends the tissues, and causes a mechanical and chemical irritation. Hence, the greater than usual pain, and tendernesws with palpation.
Should resolve in a few more days, depending on size. Hematomas rarely get infected, but they can. Just watch it and don't stress. Any fever or dramatic increase in pain: see a doc.
If you hit a nerve, there will almost always be a paresthesia: a electric shock sensation, very brief, that will usually travel down the limb to some degree. Don't inject there! Move the needle and proceed, it's no biggie.

This sounds exactly like what happens to me on many occassions since I've started using QV250 Enan. My cycle prior to my current one was ran with QV250 only (w/dbol but, that has no significance in this story) I limped for 13 fucking weeks. I was using the 50ml bottle which has a higher BA content than the 10ml bottles. I tried heating it, massaging the injection site, everything imaginable to get rid of it but, nothing worked. This time I am mixing deca w/ the QV250 & am using the 10ml bottles. For the most part there have been less painful injections but, QV still leaves a lump & pain in my glutes & quads from time to time. I have one on my quad right now that has been there & painfull for the last 5-7days, it is getting better & this is not the first time it has happened. It is not an abcess or infection nor is it my injection techniques. I draw with an 18g pin switch & inject w/a 23g 1"for quads & 1.5 for glutes. The bottom line is, suck it up & go with it or switch gear. I know many of my friends that use it w/no pain & I know others that seem to get more pain than me (maybe they're just bigger pussies LOL) You body is more than likely simply reacting to the BA in the Test. I never had these problems running Tornel or Brovel. I doubt that you have an abcess or infection but, it doesn't hurt to use caution. Keep an eye on it & if the redness starts spreading or it gets realy hot to the touch, get your ass to the doc. Just my $.02 Good Luck

I may be way off but if there are not enough definite signs of abscess then there could be an impacted nerve. Its happened to me usually with suspensions but once with oil. Shoot too close to a nerve and the pressure of the injected fluid stresses the nerve. Can be painful but subsides as the fluid dissipates.

If it is something like that, how long does the pain usually last? The soreness has been pretty consistant for the past 4 day. It does not feel like it got any better or worse, and the lump has not got worse or better. I think that I would feel a little better if the soreness would slowly start going away. But like I said, the pain has not changed from day to day.

Sometimes a few days and sometimes a week for me. With suspensions I remember it passed more rapidly but was more painful. Weird thing about nerve response is that they sometimes continue for a time even after the cause has gone. Also, if you are not giving the leg enough rest the area can remain sore longer. Lots of heat and message can help. never had a shot abscess but dental is another thing. With these abscessed I very definitely felt like complete shit. Weak, dizzy, naseau no appetite. You KNOW when you have an infection going thru you. 4 days and no temp and no symptoms, sounds more like an injury caused by the injection. My .02.

Man, you're describing exactly what I am going thru...did my first (ever) shot last night around 10 pm and hit a friggin nerve, definitely felt that electric shock sensation, very brief, pulled the needle back (23g, 1.5") a little, than start pumping slowly.
Felt OK all night, got up this morning without ANY symptoms, went to the gym, had a great workout (shoulders).
Than around 1 pm today it all started to unfold slowly. First soreness, and than got progressively worse. Now (it is 9:30 pm) I am in agony. Feels like I am walking with a kitchen knife stuck in my buttock.
Not so much the pain, but that nerve is just cramping me. Every step is hard. No redness, butt cool to touch, no lumps yet.
Today is day 1, so I'll keep you posted.
Man, this sucks!

I feel for you bro.

Once in a while my glute is sore for about 4-5 days. Depends on where I inject in my glute. It happens from time to time.
