I am doing the CKD bulk thing. I have been doing it for about 6 weeks. I have finally gotten to 4000 calories a day. I carb up from Friday night at around 6 until Saturday night before I go to bed. The past workouts have had WAy too much volume I believe. I was killing myself trying to revolve the lifting around the carb ups. I have been working for 2 weeks on a new routine, please tell me what you think. I am starting this Wednsday come hell or high water. I am also going to add a 250 gram influx of carbs on Wed. before my workout. Here it goes.

Wednsday (Chest & Tris)

Flat bench 3x6-8
Dumbell Pullovers 3x6-8
Inc. Dembell Press 3x6-8
Tricep Extensions 3x6-8
Close grip bench 2x6-8

Friday (back & Bis)

Pull Ups 3 sets to failure
Bent Row 3x6-8
1 arm Dumbell rows 3x6-8
standing bicep curls 2x6-8
seat alt. curl 2x6-8
or
21's 2x6-8 (any feedback on these?)

Sunday (legs & shoulders)

Squats 3x6-8
SLDL 3x6-8
standing barbell calf raises 3x15
barbell military front press 3x6-8
lying side raises 2x6-8
Barbell or dumbell shrugs 3x6-8 (which is more effective?)

That is it. I will start with 2 10-15 min. HIIT cardio sessions on Tuesday and Thursday and that is it. I eat around 5000 calories on Satruday carb up and keep the Friday calories around 4000 even with the carbs. Any suggestions.

it may just be the fact that you're trying to bulk on keto..

You need carbs to grow. Someone had a really good quote on here earlier. When it comes to building muscle protein are the parts and carbs are the labor.

I put on 31 ibs in 6 weeks on a bulking CKD, it works. And who said you don't eat carbs on a CKD? The supercompensation effect of the carb up after depelting is very anabolic, but that is another arguement entirely.

Ok, you hit the nail on the head. High volume is not the way to train on this type of diet. You need short, very intense workouts. Also, training a body part once a week is less than idea for growth. Most of the guys on this forum will tell you that they train everything more frequintly. I was traning each body part 3 times a week (half of my body each workout, for 6 workouts each week), while bulking very recently. Try reducing your volume and increasing the frequincy. You also need to continue to increase calories. If you are in ketosis, you do not use calories efficiently, thus you need more of them. If you energy level is low, I suspect you need to continue to add fat to yoru diet. Adding a few tbs of olive oil (126 fat calories each), should not be difficult.

I am getting exactly 60-65 % of fat per day. How many sets, reps if you are going to work each part twice a week

That was my question. How many sets you planning on doing. Also, I would recommend keeping the reps in the 10-12 range IMO.
