Rattlesnake Roundup

Im watching a show about a Texas event that goes out and finds Rattlesnakes and then the town has a party and kills them and eats them. Has anyone heard of this.. This is Crazy.. Also has anyone ever eaten Rattlesnake. I guess it tastes like chicken....lol

I use to spend alot of time in Mexico for work and their staple food is Goat. Restaurants would have skinned goats hanging up around the grill and you could pick which one you wanted. It tastes just like chicken..

Yes I've heard of it part of my family lives in Texas. Yes I've had rattlesnake and it does taste a lot like chicken.

Yes it tastes good. Kind of like chicken but a little sweeter.

You should try Rocky mountain Oysters sometime they are very good too!

They have something like this in Noxen, Pa. But you just milk the poison out and they measure and weigh them then you have to put them back where you found them.

I was watching a survival show and the guy killed a rattlesnake with a rock and roasted it. It actually look good. The damn thing was huge, it must have weighed 10 pounds...

Run into them all the time on the rig when it is warm, they are attracted to the vibration. They aren't too big in the mountains though, max about 2 feet long. Guys catch them all the time and like to put them in other guys coolers and lockers. That and little tiny scorpions about 3/4" long. so far no one has been bitten. The scorpions are mean little fuggers though.

That reminds me of when I was little my Grandfather was telling us that he use to work in the mill and would take his lunch box full of food. He said there was this guy that would steal peoples lunches and he put a blacksnake in his box one day and the guy stole it and had a light heart attack, because when he opened the box the snake jumped out and bite him. true story.... lol My Grandfather said that guy quit the next day,,, hahahah
