What pisses you off about your gym?

1. The people I want the whole dam gym to myself. I guess that ain't happening tell I win the lotto.
2. The people that talk to me. Even the trainers are dumbasses at my gym. Yeah great idea to ask me if I am going heavy right in the middle of a leg press. You can count the fuckin plats on there you tell me if it looks heavy. That was a trainer that asked me that. Well he was teaching his client to squat with all of 20lbs.
3. The music I go to pansy ass gym and they play the worst fucking music.

That is all for now but I am going to the gym in a bit so I am sure to have more later.

At my last visit to the university gym, out of the 30 people I counted, 27 were wearing sleeveless shirts and 23 were doing curls.

strip down to a thong and strut around like you own the place QT. you animal you. Growl and glare and crack your whip. Then shake your botty and take whatever you want. You can do it! take of your clothes and strut, I say, strut! :qt:

There are two things in particular that make me shake my head sadly. It never pisses me off since it's their bodies..

1) Someone piling on way too much weight for squats and then doing 6 inches ROM or less.
2) Someone piling on LOTS of weight on the seated leg press or standing leg press and doing 1 inch ROM bounces.

Answer to rants 2&3: Wear headphones. People won't bother you if they see them and you'll have your own choice of music.

Answer to rant 1: Shut up and lift.

Dude, you have to learn that women don't want you to give them a solution. Just be pretty, sit there with your mouth shut and let them spiral until they're done. You might even get laid that way.

That is actually not a bad idea. :o

I hate when I have to change my routine because it is overcrowded

ie I've planned to do squat and SLDL in the only squat rack of the gym but there is already 10 people waiting for it

Now that you mentioned it QT... well I won a free year membership @ Bally's. Which was great timing 'cause my membership @ this other gym was already up. I've gone to this Bally's for 2 weeks now & I can't stand it! There's way too many guys hovering over & hogging the free weights area & it's annoying 'cause when I'm trying to workout, they find it the perfect opportunity to bother me. My old gym was nice 'cause it was more "family oriented" and there wasn't so many people & a bonus, there weren't guys bothering me when I'm trying to work out! Now I find that I have to dodge certain workouts & it's really pissin' me off! I think I'm going to have to renew my old membership. Grrrrrrrr. Didn't they say that the best things in life are free?

Dude, join a yuppie gym. Almost no one there does squats or deadlifts of any kind. At mine there are two squat racks, 2 smith machines and one deadlift platform. The smith machines are almost always in use. I never have to wait for the squat racks or the deadlift platform. Come to think of it, I don't have to wait for the leg press machines or the hack squat machine either.

i just got back from a new gym i'm trying. at my old one, i guess everyone kind of knew me, or had seen me or something.
at this one, 3 guys tried to strip the weight off the decline bar i was using when i was standing next to it. I said, "i'm using that"
and they said "OH!!!" cause they didn't think the female was using that weight (155, which isn't even that heavy for me) i guess. I had the same thing when i was loading the bar for shrugs- someone pointed to it and said "is that for you?"
i know i'm sensitive about it, and i'm not annoyed at the guys that ask, but it makes me feel like a freak.

I don't have any real complaints about my gym even though it has all the cheesy stuff like a juice bar and lap pool. It's two floors and even has an elevator (yes I do use it and not just on leg day). The DB's only go to 120 lbs but that's enough for me right now.

This happend to me today, but I still had a good workout. Also people that don't put there weights backs. People that make way to much noise when they are lifting. Guys who all of a sudden need to work out right behind you when your doing deads or good mornings.

Another advantage of being big. People tend to get outta my way. ;)

I guess I'm a freak at my new gym cuz I lift & I'm a woman -- so I'm watched constantly.....jeez! Haven't you ever seen a woman deadlift before?

The rust from the plates is kinda yucky too...

I remember when I used to workout at the college gym and there was this one guy who came in first thing in the morning. He use nothing BUT dumbells. Every freaking dumbbell in the god damned place! Naturally, he'd only be using one single bench and wouldn't put any of it back. So, the poor schmuck who came after him (me) would see every dumbbell around the place lying around the bench he was using.

God, I wish I hit him for that.

Judging from your pics, you probably also hate it when they work in front of you when you're doing the chest flys.

BTW, where is it you work out again...;)

:lmao: Some ass walked right in front of me last week when I was doing cable flys. I was thinking what the fuck is his problem later it hit me that he was checking me out.
I work out at Bally's... why you live in Toronto to?

There was this 24-hour gym I went to when I lived at home, it was like a dungeon. Sometimes I had it to myself, could lift with my shirt off, and play whatever music I wanted. Ice Cube, Ozzy, Metallica, etc. It was great, and I had some of my best workouts there.

It was simply called, "The Gym."

They have a place like that here in Vegas. They allow chalk and everything. :) Never been, I'm a pansy-ass.

QT - I run the wire of headphone up the back of my shirt and neck. Then put the headphones on. When lifting, sometimes you do have to change the location of the belt/player, but it is no biggie. HELPS SO MUCH to stop people from talking to you. Sometimes I don't even play anything, just have the headphones on. I'm anti-social. :)

this is very true. they get outta my way as well. yet they feel, for some fuckin reason, that because im the biggest/strongest person in the gym that they have to ask me for a spot.

Or tell you that their brother / cousin / uncle / friend also works out and is as big as you.

Today at my gym the music was.... Mariah Carey :destroy:
