Florida woman issues restraining order against Pats' Moss
Foxboro, MA (Sports Network) - A Florida woman has been granted a restraining order against New England Patriots wideout Randy Moss, whom she alleges beat her and then refused to allow her to seek medical treatment.
Rachelle Washington, 35, of Fort Lauderdale, was granted the restraining order on Monday, which orders Moss to stay at least 500 feet away from her, her home, and her car. Washington alleged that on January 6, during New England's bye week before its AFC Divisional matchup against the Jaguars, Moss caused serious injury to her and refused her from seeking treatment.
A hearing has been set for January 28 in Fort Lauderdale. No charges have been filed in the case.
Moss responded to the accusations at Gillette Stadium Wednesday morning.
"There's a lot of things I want to say and tell everyone...It's unfair to us as athletes when a situation like this occurs," said Moss, who said he's known Washington for 11 years.
"I've never laid my hands on a woman. To say I physically, in an angry manner, put my hands on a woman, I've never done that. I've never hit a woman," said Moss.
