Random Twitching?

It's probably because you're always thinking of rape.

I suggest you get yourself a good multimineral supplement. I used to get a lot of cramping and twitching until I started taking one twice a day...now I don't get those problems even on very hot days no matter how hard I work out. Proper hydration and a good multimineral supplement will fix you right up.

bottom line is that common things happen commonly, and most of the time, the cause of whatever it is youre complaining about is actually going to be the common sense answer - so dont worry about this "it may be neuraligia/multiple sclerosis/[insert fucking horrible disease here]" stuff, because really, its highly highly probable that its jsut that you work out a lot

here are some ideas to help you get your head around the idea, because the root cause of your anxiety about this issue is your lack of understanding

when you exercise, your muscles tighten up. as they do so, the other systems/vessels going through those muscle tissues start to be affected - for example, a muscle may get so tight so as to squash a nerve, and so you start getting funny signals going through that nerve. or perhaps the muscle tissues may tighten up so much that they squash the drainage vessels going through the areas (your lymphatic system) and so fluid doesn move within your tissues quite in teh way its meant to - which may then lead to some swelling in some areas, some dehydration in others, with lots and lots of effects on the other systems going through those areas as well.

then you should start thinking about what exercise does to metabolism - your needs for growth/recuperation are likely a lot higher, and so you have these pockets of muscle cells sucking nutrients out of your bloodstream, resulting in small areas of tissue where you actually may have a nutrient deficit (o2, glucose...whatever). muscle cells arent the only ones taht need those nutrients - your nerves need them at elast as much, and when you start depriving nerve cells of food they start acting weird, and sending signals all over the place

the last thing you should think about is that intense exercise uses up a lot of your neurotransmitters and neuromodulators (the molecules that help nerve cells communicate with each other) and so once again, after lots of exercise, you end up with a nervous system that isnt functioning correctly, and is sending out some retarded signals

i twitch like mad when i train a lot, and its happened for years. when im busting balls in the gym, i get twitches everywhere from my thigh to my thumb to my eye to my nose - all over the place. when i slow down the training, they go away. when i ramp it up, they come back. theyre linked, and graded - the harder the training/diet, the more it happens.

so chill out. i guess you could botox your whole body tho ;)

didn't read the whole thread, but you nailed it. Mag deficit in the body will cause cause random, bodywide twitching. Potassium has nothing to do with twitching. People often confuse twitching with cramping, which are caused by two different deficiencies.

It's rare though for a healthy person to get a severe enough mag deficit to get that much twitching. I get it because of Lyme Disease (the bacteria consumes magnesium in the body), but I've no idea why you'd get it unless perhaps you consume lot of caffeine which blocks mag absorption.
