Ran into the ex at work today....

my ex of 2 years works at the same company as me (that is how we met). We don't work in the same building,l however she works in Financce and I support financial applications... so once in a blue moon she is over here for a meeting.

Well I am heading into a conference room and she turns the corner, I am looking her way because my co-worker is behind her. At first I didn't really recognize her, or I guess I just couldn't process what the heck I was seeing. She is walking my way and had obviously spotted me first, she has an almost pained look on her face. I have no clue what my face looked like, but it felt like my heart just stopped and time switch to slow motion. I made some sort of "hey" gesture and attempted a half assed smiled. She acknoledged it and walked right by me as I walked into the room.

For a good minute after that I was in the meeting and not thinking straight, my hands were shaking a bit and I was totally skatter brained.

I seem ok now though, but still I dunno, feel weird?

While I agree with the concept of the ex being disappointed that he'll get over her. I think perhaps her feeling was more about not knowing how he would respond to her since he told her to no longer contact him. It's an uncomfortable moment where two people that once knew each other well could not predict the other's action/reaction to them.

yeah.. having other "stuff" going on in my life right now definitely helps..
