Is case like this dismissible?

I think that's extra 2 points for my insurance and can't let that happen.

I called a lawyer and he told me that he can try, and for trying he want's $200.

Any suggestions?

Probably not much you can do. If you have a cool DA you might get it deferred unless you alreay have other traffic tickets, that shows that you have a general disregard for the traffic laws.

Also a cool judge might let you plea down to malfunctioning vehicle which is just a fine.

No they won't I got a ticket deferred a few years back and as long as you meet the terms of the deferral it just disappears. Just set up an appointment with the da's office to talk to someone the number should be on you ticket.
