Well, I had one of those days today. I spoke to a project team who asked for my help with their project. I shouldn't of bothered. When I usually start off on a project, I ask for the CBA and some basic metrics. My thoughts are that if you are LEADING or SPONSORING the fucking project, you should be the BEST GODDAMNED SALESPERSON for the project. If you aren't, then the project is doomed to fail because you don't understand why you're doing it.
Me: "So, why are you doing this project? Where's the benefit case?"
Them: "There is none, but it's a good idea."
Me (more politely then I'm saying now): "WTF? You spent over $1mm on a good idea with no positive benefit case? Is your whole reason for doing the project is 'just because'? THEN YOU BITCH ABOUT HOW YOUR TEAM DOESN'T HAVE ANY MONEY?! YOU SPENT IT ALL ON THIS GODDAMNED PIECE OF CRAP PROJECT!! AND NOW YOU WANT MY FUCKING HELP?!"
Them: "So, will you help or something?"
Me: "Lord, take me now."
