When I was a kid, I used to sneak out and play in the rain, I loved it the most when there was thunder and lightening, made my heart pound and my blood start pumping in fear and excitement. I'd always tilt my face up and the rain would always feel amazing on my face. I'd sneak back in, pat the excess water with a towel i'd stash nearby as to not make a mess coming back, then I'd jump in the shower still clothed and stand under the warm water. felt awesome after the cool chill of the rain.

Of course I got caught a few rainstorms later which didn't go well, but it was awesome while it lasted.

Growing up in PA if it'd rain a lot in a short period of time worms would crawl out on the road and cars would run over them. Others would get stuck and dry out as the sun came out and it'd smell like bad meat for a while. I don't miss that.

nothing was ever that exciting in Lincoln, NE. Worms come out after it stopped raining usually, like good little lads, and no way they'd dare mar the pristine neighborhood streets. we used to drive to Omaha for more exciting adventures cause Lincoln was too boring, and Omaha sucked.lol

That reminds me of when I was a kid. I would go outside when the tornado sirens were going off and try to find the tornado with the same mindset; fear was fun. My Mom always said the main female character in the movie Twister reminded her of me.

Somewhere in my mid 20s I became terrified of tornadoes, and even more so lightening.

I hate rain unless its August. I guess that's how you feel right now billfred.

Got sprinklers hooked up to my salty water well. Grass is super green. Seems water well was better than city water even with salt. Wife is using bath water to water flowers and shrubs. Toilets are only flush when something gets blown out.

Stop running dishwasher and only wash one load of each color clothes / week. See there is an economic solution to everything.

Last bill was $280 vs $600 last year and forecast of $3,000. It is still early. June is our worst month.

oh and I have an outdoor shower too that drains right into my flower beds. As soon as it gets a little warmer (no hot water piped to it), I will be doing all my showers outside as well. Might as well just piss right there in the shower (no need for change).

Twisters are more hardcore than rainstorms! Tornadoes terrify me too, but there is a certain aw at it all even from a distance.
