there is a new bill in California trying to get passed that will call for equal suspension and expellsion for all students. Right now 1 in 8 black students gets suspended while only 1 in 18 whites gets suspended.

They say that the reason minorities are suspended more is because they are TREATED UNFAIRLY BY THE SCHOOLS, AND THE SCHOOLS TARGET THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The reason more black people are suspended is becauase it just so happens that more black people deserve being suspended. Anyone who has ever been to a public high school will know that.

I remember I went to a school out of district for a few years because we moved. The only way I could go is by riding the "black bus" to the bus station, and then mom picking me up. Believe me, a higher percentage of blacks get into more trouble then do whites.

They interviewed BLACK AND HISPANIC principles about this topic and EVERYONE they interviewed said that this was complete BS. They said that they treat everyone EQUALLY and punish EVERYONE equally, and if a law like this was passed, then it would corrupt all the dicipline procedures. Discrimination is nothing new to our nations educational systems. Most will admit that the level of institutionalized discrimination in our public schools is less rampant in recent years. However, I feel that this is due to the less overt manner in which it occurs today.

I went to a very diverse public school in Palm Beach County, Florida. The school racial make up was about 50% white, 20% Hispanic, 20% black, 10% other. It was evident while in school that most minorities were treated differently than their white counterparts. There were many instances of vandalism and violence in which white students received lesser punishments for committing conduct violations.

Many minorities at my school received full suspensions for breaking minor conduct rules such as failing to serve detentions. While many white students received in-house suspensions for vandalism of school property, fighting and other more serious infractions.

To deny that any and all forms of discrimination exits in our nations schools or workplace is naive and unrealistic

Admit it guy's RyanH included, blacks have you guys by the balls in America. We can see it very clearly here, and it's happening here now. We never had a black population here in Ireland untill very recently. Say in the last 3 year's when our economy shot through the roof. Then we began to receive refugee's from Africa (most nigeria) who were truely welcomed with open arm's. But fuck man they turned the tables on us here pretty damn quick, now if you voice an opinion on blacks in this country you have to defend your remarks by saying your not racist before proceeding. Now I know the situation is different here in Ireland, and can't begin to compare with America, but we are finding that the African's are the greatest racist in this land. As regards punishment in schools etc. we haven't reached a stage where there's many in school here above the age of 4-6 year old. But I work part time as a bouncer in a night club here in Dublin and we have to treat black's very very carefully and make sure everything is done and said in front of camera's and witness'es, because as soon as there's any kind of fight or altercation it's turned into a 'Hate Crime' or 'Race attack' !. If a black is brought to court here or is detained in a police station they get representation from every kind of black rights group going here who'll kick up a right stick if given any public platform. Now almost daily we're being told by the RyanH type's how ashamed we should be of our self's for being racist blah blah fucking blah.
This really pisses me off here, I know this post probably doesn't belong in this particular thread but what the heck I'm getting something off my chest. Thanks for listening to my ranting's !!

I can too, just try applying to college, if you are white, you will be discriminated against. Remember the Hopwood case of 94, or the 100's of other reverse discrimination cases that are pending regarding the quota system in college admissions??

remember when those 10 or 15 black students started a chair throwing brall at a basketball game?? they all got expelled. That was racist right?? Cause Jesse Jackson said it was, afterall, they did nothing wrong, everyone should be able raise hell and cause brawls.


I grew up in Houston, my principle was black, he was cool, about half of the teachers were black, and it did seem that the minorities were getting suspended more but I guess its because our principle was a racist, afterall, a black man can't win in a this white mans world, thats why there are so many blacks in jail, the criminal justice system is full of racists, even though a lot of the employees are black, oh yea, and the black jurors that convicted their own kind are also racist, afterall it only takes one juror to disagree, and there is ALWAYS a black juror.

By the way, do you all still believe that a black principle also discriminates minorities?? or does that not count.

i go to a school of only 200 students, and only 3 black kids, life is good but those 3 black kids are never in trouble since they're girls, only 1 or 2 kids total get suspended in my school.

MANNY78,I agree that if you break the rules you should expect to be punished and if you get a warning then consider yourself lucky.As long as the rules are applied evenly and fairly to ALL THE STUDENTS then I have no problem with them or the people who enforce them.Our teachers are a vital part of our childrens education and in most cases the TEACHERS see our kids MORE than we do at home.With all the single parents who have to work one or even two jobs to keep a roof over their heads and feed their families the children are not getting the parental authority that should be in their life. Have you noticed how some kids have little or no respect for adults and will curse you out from a to z in a second?? If I ever spoke in a disrespectful manner to my mom or dad I was going to get my butt whooped and I would not be going out with my friends for months.They need to know who is the parent and who is the child and many are in such a hurry to GROW UP or just act grown up that they have lost some of the most important years of their lives and for what?? IFwe do not save the youth of today then we will reap what we sow and the crop is not going to be good.......

There were 1200 students in my high school. My senior year there were 3 blacks in the whole school. We never had problems with people bringing guns to school either.
