Quick Question About Blood Pressure & Heart Rate

DJLegacy2k1

Ok,

So I went to the docs today for my monthly follow up for my migraines and my Heart Rate was 119, and BP was 135/90 something...I dont remember exactly, but either way my BP has been slightly elevated for months, although my heart rate hasnt been this high sitting in the office before.

With those numbers being slightly elevated, my doc put me back on a calcium channel blocker and a script for .1mg Clonidine.

Are these numbers enough to worry too much about? Should I keep them monitored but cut back on the Stims, or should I drop all aas completely?

Just curious...as this is something I havent researched too terribly much about, because it hasnt effected me personally till now.

Thanks

26 years old, no latest blood work show liver, cholesterol and everything else seem to be in normal ranges. I do not know a family history, as i am adopted.

Ur bp numbers are in the pre-hypertension phase. U usually need 2 consecutive readings of bp one week apart to diagnose hypertension. Id say stick to the prescription and get anothr reading

Your heart rate at 119 resting is way high! Do you have anxiety?

Yeah, Im told that I do, I think I do...my doc had given me Kolonpin for a month but I told her it didnt seem to help, so now she gives me nothing (odd), she said Xanax is "too strong" for me, since Im already on a bunch of meds for migraines including pain meds.

I dont really understand her thinking...

Im thinking I should drop the 20mg of Beast and maybe it would be ok to just stick to the test and mast? Also drop the pre-cardio stims, obviously...

AAS will really increase BP bro..It can also impact anxiety. How much health stuff do you have going on? AAS can increase headaches as well my friend.

My anxiety isnt bad, very rarely do i have any issues, but places like doctors offices and dentists and things make me tense lol

I have had migraines for years but they do not seem to get worse with any supplementation, they are always a pain no matter what, so its not like they can get worse lol

The blood pressure issue just started about 5/6 months ago, my doctor also thinks the large amount of stress ive been under, going through the break up with my gf of 4 years, moving out of my apartment because of it and putting in extra hours at my day time job is leading to some of the issues.

That will do it..but be careful hypertension is not joke bro..stroke, heart attack, etc. etc.

You're too young to have that high of pressure, the bottom number is the important one (90) too high for your age. Crank up your cardio, lose the stims because they elevate your heart rate, and forget about that girl, there are plenty of fish in the sea....Take care of yourself first.
Keep an eye on that BP, 3 times a week, don't take it everyday because you will starting stressing even more. Hope all goes well bro....

Yeah the g/f issue is on its way to calming down and being over and done with the fall out of moving all my stuff out and whatnot. I have been doing 45 mins of cardio at least on a stationary bike 5-7 times a week as well as playing basketball outdoors 3-4 times a week. Then Ive obviously been hitting the weights allot more since i have more free time being out of the relationship so its MUCH more consistent, one of the reasons i started the test/mast cycle now because even though i was still lifting through the relationship, now i can really lock it in and have no reasons to miss workouts.

I suppose I will start taking the Clonodine, even though I heard it was kind of not that great for you and can have some sides.

Yeah, take the Clonodine, all meds have some kind of sides. I'm sure you watch your diet, but make sure its really in check. Minimal salt because the test can make you hold water. That is the main reason BP gets high (holding water). I'm no Doc. but every one I went to for my BP issues swears stress dont elevate BP. I tend to disagree, but I'm no Doc. Just make sure you cover all your basis, BP is no joke. I personally dont think your BP is all that high, but for your age it is, especially the bottom number. That is the one you REALLY have to watch because that's what causes strokes and heart attacks. I'm saying combat it now, so you do not have to deal with severe problems when you get older.

later on, young warrior....

The thing that bothers me is the fact that apparently my levels are always slightly elevated and the doc isnt sure why. I can be eating minimal sodium, doing cardio on a bike or low impact 6 days a week, getting full nights sleep, and have everything under control but yet the numbers are still always on the slightly high side.

The next thing mentioned was a diuretic to drop some water to help lower the BP...They said this is one of the first lines of defense, so I may be getting a script or OTC one to see if it helps.
