Quick cardio question......

I have been training for a few years and have had great results for not doing much cardio. Here is what i usually look like when i train:

Well i went through a rough time and have not been in the gym for almost a year and have lost most of my definition. I have about 30 weeks before I go on vacation and propose to my girlfriend. I am getting back into the gym now and want different results. For the first 8 weeks im going to do high intensity cardio for 30 minutes in the am 5 days/week to get some of the nasty fat gone. Also following a nice nutrition plan. My question is once i start lifting again should i limit my cardio to 3x or stick to 5x? sorry for the long post just want something different this time. Thanks in advance.
 
this isn't too long man it's all good. well i am a beginner, and what i am going to do is lift 3 days a week and do HIIT 3 days a week. Then i will rest one day a week. just make sure you don't overdo it or anything, because i have heard that it can be really hard if you go allout every single day. I would reccomend doing 5 days a week if you aren't going to be training as hard, and 3 days a week if you really want to train harder. It's a matter of trial and error. I would start with 3 times a week, but not as intense because you have to ease back into it. Don't overdo it and do what you did one year ago because you will have a much greater chance of getting injured. Leave your ego at the door when you go into the gym, and just start out small. Before you know it, you'll be right back where you left off a year ago.

30 weeks is a dammmmm long time man. You have some time so you can take things slowly.

this is completely my opinion, and there are a lot of different things you can do.... like lift for the first 3 months and get some muscle, then start cutting down, etc etc
