Question Re: Androgel script

I had a blood test done at my doctor's office, and one of the things he happened to check was my testosterone level. Well, lo and behold it's in the basement at around 304-310 ng/dl. He said that anything under 300 is considered "technically" low. Anyway, even though I was slightly over 300, he was willing to write a script for Androgel. I even got a coupon for a free 30-day supply which was cool. Nevertheless, I realize that 7.5mg a day of Androgel is going to do nothing for muscle growth; at best it might bring my T levels up a little.

So here is my stupid question: Since technically I have a valid script for testosterone from my doctor, could I get something like cypionate or enanthate via "a source other than the pharmacy" and in doing so would I be less easily prosecuted if I was caught (since I have a valid script for Test)?

I have a feeling I already know the answer to this, but what the hell... I figured I'd ask for input anyway.

PS-another idea I had was telling the doc that the androgel irritates my skin and that maybe topical test was not the way to go for me personally. Then maybe he would give me a script for cyp etc.

Not gonna work - HRT is designed to bring your test levels back in line to where you should be. Injectables would take you well beyone pharmacological doses and bring your values well in excess of the 'norm'. You may have a case for Andriol capsules at 40mg each. The doc may write you for 1 - 2 capsules daily for a HRT dosage. You would then need to take 8 - 10 capsules daily to get a dosage to build muscle.

Both of these are very expensive to maintain and are not very cost effective. If you can get the Andriol script is stacks nicely with Anavar.

There are other compound topicals besides Androgel that are within HRT protocol ... ones much stronger. Androgel simply was heavily marketed to MDs when it came out and that's all they know.

The one I'm on can drive my test levels over 1,000.

Take a look in the Longivity board area and read through HRT program posts.

I'm on HRT and, as the other guys said, Androgel is just for maintaining T at the lowest possible level. I am now getting Sus and Win through a great HRT clinic and only use Androgel when I'm off cycle and not in PCT.

I have a friend who has a wife and newborn. His doc bypassed the Androgel and went right to shots (although only 1/month) for him because of the danger of getting the stuff on his nursing wife and newborn. Might be another reason to ask for shot vs gel. Another friend is a massage therapist--so he sure as hell doesn't need to worry about giving the old folks he helps with physical therapy T through contact.
