question on full squat

from readin the stickied article on squat ... im now going to go below parallel when squating but i have a question .. how far down should you go below parallel when squatting ... like until your calves beginning to touch your thighs ???
also i got another question for skullcrushers ... they are tricep extention arent they ... well i was doing them at the gym the other day and this guy told me to lock my elbows when doing them ... and that i shouldnt move it but that makes it impossible for the barbell to go behind your head... also if what i did was correct then how is this different to pullovers... im really confused ...

thanks

parallel in the squat is recognized as when the top surface of the leg at the hip joint is lower then the top of the knee. so anything BELOW that is below parallel. try box squatting off any box that is lower than parallel, all the way down to even 6 or 8"s

skullcrushers are ok, but maybe you should try some jm's for tricep strength beneficial to your bench. doing skullcrushers the way you were doing, isolates the triceps a bit more effectively then what the dude at your gym suggested, however, it gave me elbow pain for a month after doing them a few weeks. always mix up your routine so you don't have any weak areas developing, and focus on your weak points if you do have them

don't know about a link, but it's a cross between a close grip bench and a skullcrusher. i think of them as a skullcrusher to your lips, while you allow your upper arms to act like your close grip benching

sorry but i dont get it ... close grip bench press and skullcrusher is 2 different movements ... i cant see how they can cross over ...
so jms are just skullcrushers to you lips ...

if you are a comp powerlifter (depending on fed) you do NOT get xtra points for squatting ass to ankles..all you need to do is break parallel for some white lights

if youre looking to grow your quads Oly high bar squats are a good move
