Question for those who've made great gains on their own, and those who had trainers..

Charles is $150-200 hr. But he is working with me on a different scale since he see's my potential to make money soon, and if I make money then so will he.

Charles is the best trainer in the world he trains Dennis James, Chris Cormier, Gunther schleircamp, just to name a few... He is an expert on everything, he builds Champions, not local heros. He is the only guy I know that can just look at your frame and tell you how far you can take BBing, he will look at your physique and tell you just how much weight your body can hold and look good at. Plus Charles still holds his IFBB Pro card although he is finished competition, still looks awsome at around 185 -190 lbs.

For instance before working with Charles I competed in Light Heavyweight, When we first got together he told me that I need to compete at the top of the heavyweight class, and even Super-heavy. And we have been working from there. When Charles speaks you just listen cuz he is never wrong.

Yeah. He's a very knowledgeable person. I'd love to train with him.

Please don't try Arnold's routine. You will become overtrained and burned out very quickly. Arnold could have been better than he was, had he not trained so much. There's a great article in the new Flex this month that interviews Dorian, Mark Dugdale, and Lee Labrada about high intensity training. Although I need more volume than that, it's a good article worth reading.

Okay, some of you bastards just busted on me personally. I am a personal trainer. I have a college degree, I hold the CSCS through the NSCA, and am a competitive bb'er, and a former collegiate athlete. Obviously not all trainers are gonna have the knowledge and ability to bring someones physique up markedly, I guarantee that I could help an average guy in the gym make great strides. That's the problems with us jackasses (guys in the gym) we think we know everything. I guarantee if I could have Charles Glass, Chad Nicholls, Hany Rambod, etc, train me I would make gains. Never stop learning, the second you close your mind you are done growing. Quit being so damn proud, don't be scared of help.

Come to my gym bro....I'd listen. You'd laugh at the trainors there.
To be honest, I am pretty disappointed with the way most trainers look. To me it's a joke, when some guy is 6'1 and weighs 170 and he's telling people how to get diesel i want to cry. In this field the way you look goes a long way.

Ya, otherwise they look like a hypocrite. How can a trainor motivate someone to get big, or get in shape, when they can't even do it for themselves? I mean give me a break. If there was a huge ripped trainor at my gym that I could talk to, I'd definitely hit him up for tips. I should be the trainor at my gym cause all the ones there are pee-ons. I've even had a few ask me about my routine and diet, and how I got so big. They aren't even smart enough to figure out I'm on juice.

Yes, it looks better on you as a trainer if you are in shape. However, as I've said many times before, just because you're big doesnt automatically make you the best qualified person to give training advice. There are plenty of big guys that dont know shit when it comes to training people and I would NEVER take advice from. I judge a persons qualifications as a trainer, not by how they themselves look, but by the results of their clients.

Hey bro, you prolly know alot of things that the trainer will get you to do anyways man... just look real hard into diet... one of my tricks is i only eat carbs 3 times a day when bulking because i feel that i only want lean gains. morning pre and post workout. those or the times when your insulin needs to be spiked the most. maybe 4 meals would be ok as well for me. everything adapts EVERYTHING. change your diet and workout every 4 weeks. there are a lot of bio mechanical things that the trainer will know that you dont know. as i see the biggest guys in the gym with poor form. i just dont know how much you already know, so i wouldnt want to go into deep detail because i dont wanna tell you stuff you already know. one thing is that most pros are switching from heavy bulking to lean bulking. like staying within 15-20 lbs of contest weight in off season. the only way i can answer your question of is a trainer worth it, is to see how much your already know.
