Question for the policeman

rollindirty said:
Do you stereotype?

I'm not a cop, but I would. Just playin' the odds. Any dude with loud muffler enhancements gets pulled over,

He's not responding because he's at work. He works until about 0700. He will be on and prolly gladly reply when he gets home.

What do you mean by, "stereotype" ?
Everybody does it in some way or another. Are you asking if he stereotypes at work? I sure do.

gotcha chief

Does the color of my car have anything to do with it?

I have been pulled over more times since I got my red car than I have ever before in my life in all the time that I have been driving.

(sorta poking fun at the initial post... but the above statement is true about my car and me getting pulled over. I got that car in May of 06. I've been driving for over 20 years.)

no that's a myth. ive heard people say that cops pull over red cars more often - or that insurance companies charge higher premiums for red cars. that's just not true.

Well I dunno if it is true for anyone else... just seems wierd. I am not exaggerating. I mean, it's a Honda Pilot for goodness sakes...

If you are referring to "racial profiling", no, I have never and would never use someone's race as the sole basis for stopping someone. If you mean if there is anyone else I "pick on" more than others, no, when it comes to dirtbags, I am an equal opportunity employer, they all get picked on.

I wasnt implying that you were exaggerating your experience, just what Ive heard others presume about red cars is a myth

Is there a window of time when you decide to give or not give someone a ticket? When is that decision made? When you're in the car looking over his stuff? When you're talking to him/her? Is there a point of no return or do you "change your mind at any point?

Also, please remove or change your avatar.

No, there is no window of time . I don't know how other officers do it but if I am going to go through the effort of pulling you over, I have usually already decided to give you a ticket. But that is not to say that I won't listen if you have a reasonable excuse. I can decide to issue you a summons or not issue a summons at any time. It is completely discretionary. By the way, why do you want me to change my avatar?

I changed it. Is this one better?

Thanks ON, I was jk about the avatar. I'm still using my moderator powers for good vs evil, even though I'm no longer a mod.

*sniff*

I guess we red car owners just feel picked on. :)

It was really freaky. I get the new car (first red car I have ever owned - not like it is some fancy souped up high performance exotic car) and I was pulled over, I shit you not - over four times in 6 weeks. :worried: All local roads in Jersey... the same roads I have traveled ad nauseum for 12 years. I wasn't pulled over that many times total in that twelve years.

Maybe it was because I just looked sexier in the SUV than I did in that icky minivan? <---- wishfull thinking, perhaps?

Are cops pricks before the become cops, is that a prerequisite, or do they become pricks on the job?

Or does the job just attract pricks?

I see this as the way it is in the real world. I don't think cops in general look for blacks doing something wrong to use that race as an example. But hey, if you see a car loaded with 6 or 7 black guys dressed like gangbangers in a nieghborhood they aren't usually in or a rival gangs territory, somethings not right. I don't call that racial profiling, I call it the laws of probability.

Or a car full of teenagers out at 3AM on a school night, what do you think they are up too. remembers boys and girls, nothing good happens after midnight.

define a reasonable excuse

It's amazing how quick the PD and FD can respond when you throw a molotov into the middle of a seemingly deserted highway.

:cow:

well if it was "deserted" who called it in? did you call it in on your own? That is something I would do. Do something wrong call the police on your self and hide behind the fence and watch them show up

agreed.

It;s like if you see KB and JH1 our late at night in a car, you know they're shortly going to be parked in the lot at the Local Forest Preserve orally pleasuring each other with a Rick Astley cassette playing and windows all steamed.

lol illl fight you and your husband in a death match

I was at a car show here in Houston once, and they were signing people up for some thing that you would get a sticker in your car window, and if a cop saw that car out after 0100, they would automatically pull it over. They tried to get me to sign up and I told em, "Are you fucking stupid?"

Lol@Stereotyping all cops as assholes. It does attract a lot of assholes. A lot also join up to do the right thing but get sick of the bullshit and turn into assholes(that's prolly what I would do). Every now and then, u can still find a good cop. Cops won't like him because he still cares about helping others and others won't like him because he's a cop. That would be a really long, lonely night on patrol...over and over........and over. Shift after shift.

he's anything but fat

in fact he's probably stronger and more ripped than your hubby

Yep. Boy, that REALLY pissed off a bunch of the other cops. He hates bullies. That's part of the reason he wanted to be a cop. He wanted to help people who get picked on(battered wives, child abuse, assault, ect.). Little did he know that he would be working with some of the biggest bullies around- OTHER COPS. I'm glad he doesn't let their behavior change his feelings about why he wanted to be a cop. I'm glad he doesn't allow the bullshit to taint him.

Hmm. Possibly. Maybe so. You just might be right.
However, that wasn't really the point. That's just what image I get in my head from the way he acts on here. Who knows. He just may be the strongest male to ever grace ef with his presence. That does nothing for me when he acts like a 12 year old. I wish him the best... but get bored with the "i'm-cool-enough-to-take-ur-lunch money" bs. That's all.

You must spread some Karma around before giving it to myway again
