I ran into some friends that I haven’t seen in a long time...well I am a tad bigger now, and I have some muscle, anyway...these male friends of mine said that I have ruined my look, and that a woman is supposed to be soft and feminine…So I want your opinions gentlemen….it seems the only guys who appreciate women with muscle, are those that are bodybuilders or in the gym etc…I am finding a lot of guys are intimidated by it and say it is gross and women are not supposed to look like that, personally I think it is insecurity and jealousy. I am just wondering what some of your opinions are on women and their physiques…And another question what do you think personally about women who do cycles, compete etc…how do you all feel about that as well????? A few years ago, i would maybe agree with them, but now....I think muscle on women is very attractive and I love it, but that is me...what about the rest of you???

I think it is cool that a woman wants to get hard, and I respect the drive they have....But even thou I lift like mad I still have in my head the model of physical perfection as a softer form. I really like the lean look. For me as long as a woman is skinny that is enough. But I have had muscle bound woman ask me the same question in the gym, and what am I going to say? If I admit the woman on freinds are hot I am going to get called a pig.....

I like the fitness-style body-form.

Lean and fit is A-Okay in my book.

In regards to the hard-core female BB'ers I'm not
attracted to them BUT I do have a
profound respect for their discipline.

Just out of curiousity, can you describe
your friends physical appearance
and his fitness?

Remeber, 99% of the people in society
don't understand why we do what we do
as BB'ers.
Sad. But true.

Your friends are no different.

Godspeed

Yeah, you ruined your look alright, now your boobs look smaller, that's about it. As far as not looking like a skinny anorexic runway model, that's a look worth ruining. You already know what I think.

To answer your question fonz these guys are in good shape, they workout etc. I was just curious to what guys think...i prefer the way i look now, and if they think i look gross now...hmmmm Ive just begun:D

the way i see it, if they don't like it, screw 'em... you're not doing it to attract the type of men who like soft, skinny, bony, wimpy gals, now are ya???

Funny, I posted a similar question on chat not too long ago (actually, I think it was like last week).

I seen ya girl, in the flesh, and if I was gonna go the other way and you were a brunette.....I'd be on ya' like white on rice! :p

Shit, you have an amazing physique. SKINNY IS EASY - who the fuck wants that?

Still, I know how you feel. I am less muscular than you (:() but I STILL get the, "You are starting to look like a guy" - shit. FUCK THEM.

I have SEVERAL fashion photogs who now want to shoot me because they enjoy the balance of a hard-earned aesthetically pleasing physique and a "pretty face". For me, this is a tremendous complement. These are industry professionals who earn their living shooting women who look like overgrown starving BOYS.... So, it seems to me at least, that in some small way, perhaps I AM helping to affect a POSITIVE societal change by being recognized for a DIFFERENT IDEAL of BEAUTY!

I am not delusional. I am not saying that I, PERSONALLY will end up on some cover of Vogue or anything ridiculous like that. But if people like this are beginning to appreciate a strong woman.......who knows how many others will be influenced as a result?

New@GB - you are truly a vision of beauty. And the fact that you are genuine and sincere, smart and obviously disciplined and knowledgeable only ADDS to the total package.....and on top of that, A MOTHER TOO! If I only knew at your age, what I know now.......ahhhhhhh, now I need to stop it, I FEEL OLD! hehehehehhee

Tell those fuckers to talk to me! I'll let them know that it is OK to be threatened by a woman who can probably outlift them.....WE UNDERSTAND! LOL!!!:FRlol: :FRlol: :FRlol:

depends on what you mean by "woman with muscle" post a pic or something, but those hardcore-near-to-guy look are disgusting. I guess its almost like fucking another dude. But if you mean a shape like those bikini babes well noi problem.........

I think most men are attracted to feminine looking women (i.e. baby-like facial features, petite body, child-bearing shape). Studies have shown that this is what most men are naturally attracted to in a women because it signifies the features that are good for a good passage of genetics to the next generation.

Personally, I'm attracted to a woman who is in shape (tight abs, butt, legs), medium bust (B-C cup is ideal, but this is not absolutely necessary), and a pretty face.
A muscular woman doesn't intimidate me, it just begins to remind me of a man if they get too muscular and this makes me less attracted to her.

New@GB,

I'm not a man but a voice of experience...keep doing what makes YOU happy. They say "You can't please all the people all the time" and this is true with men and their tastes (women too of course). Some men might feel threatened by your drive, discipline and independence, all of which is evidenced by your awesome physique, and others just might not like the muscular aesthetic. That's ok. It shows you're not one to follow the crowd. Don't worry, the RIGHT man will appreciate those traits AND your look.

By the way, why is it that these friends feel the need to tell you you've "ruined your look"? I wonder if it goes back to that 'women w/muscle = taboo' thing? What if instead you'd gained fat instead of muscle - I wonder if they would have said you've "ruined your look"? (I analyze too much, I know.) Would they ever tell one of their guy friends that HE's ruined his look for whatever reason?!
