Question for my MOM?

Alright here it is. My mom starts weight watchers on Thursday and is curious on excercises other than the cardio to help firm up. I need help here please. She is 52 and wants to lose 20-30lbs. What othewr excercises should she do to firm up? I know I should probably know this but I thought I should get some input. Please help karma to those who do. I also know that a low carb low fat would help but she loves these gimmicks. Please help. I only knew to go here for advice. Thanks

Is she involved in a local gym? Get her to go the Y, if nothing else, and a basic all around resistance training program would be great for her (ala Body For Life). It would only take her about an hour, every morning, six days a week and she will totally change her life. Great for avoiding Osteo as well, and will almost certainly put some serious spice into her sex life. Oops... erase erase erase: mom.

Weight watchers sucks and is there to suck you money down the toilette with their anc. products and food line. I would SERIOUSLY suggest that she look at B.F.L. if gimicks get her going. Its a good gimick that works and can be done without breaking the bank.

If she is into gimic like weight watchers, then they sell some great products on TV like those ab-bars, or rollers, the rocking sit-up machine, after watching the commercial, these things get you to like 5% bf in a couple of weeks after only having to exercise 10 mins 3 times a week.

In reality, I agree with ChefWide, you need to get her to do some type of total body workout. BodyPump, Body for Life, etc. Or you could help her devise her own total body resistance program. I would definitely keep her on the machines or in a class though.

Too bad she is so sold on weight watchers. They will milk her for a year to 'help' her loose the 20lbs.

My mom who is 53 is a little overweight and about 1.5 months ago I got her on 4 thermorexins/day, Yohimburn DF and Glucorell r/meal and so far she has lost 11lbs. She doesn't workout but does cardio 3 times a week.

I am 53, and people my age have a different perspective.

I recommend she work up to 45 minutes of intense cardio, over the next 60 days, about 4 times a week, and abs lower, upper and oblique.

Also start the
Akins diet on reduced calories.

finally after she is comfortable and sees some progress light weight training.

It is hard but if she is motivated she can do it.

Bye the way, my wife also wants to drop 20 lbs, and started the above program Jan, and has lost 6lbs, all fat.

In addition she should af

start her out slow, while weight training will be of great benefit, injuries are to be avoided.

emphasis on form and slow repetitions.

squats without weight
hack squats with the swiss ball (takes strain off back and allows for greater quad utilization)

for upper body start with machines and dumbell work (STRICT FORM with dumbells)

ex..
for arms

basic curls, tricep kick backs (form very important on these 2 to get the best benefit)

swiss or fit ball is great for stability- core training is very important at that age with potential for back injuries

if you could be more specific as to what she likes and what equipment is available- easier to make direct suggestions

Unless she is ready for some winstrol, i would post this question on a different board (training, nutrition, etc.)

come on guy, we all know that if you were a good son you'd get your mom son clen.

lol.

however. NO. clenbuterol is probably not a good idea for a woman of that age. It does place a lot of strain on the heart.

throw some t3 and clen in her foods and give her some dnp mixed with candies...then push her to go to run and hide all her food in the house...in one month she will be a needle...lol!
