Ok so my gf went to go get a place and it turns out a year ago when she moved out somewhere they are claiming all sorts of damage and never could get ahold of her I guess and put it on her credit report. Now nobody will rent to her. She had a little tear in her carpet so didnt bother asking for the $250 deposit back but they're making up a bunch of other stuff and want $1300. She will never pay that.
They didn't have her sign a move in form to report the damage already in the apartment.
Does she have a good chance in court? Seems like if they didn't give her the chance to report the problems, they would lose.
