Question about patient confidentiality.

Does anyone feel it would be a violation of confidentiality to reveal the last names only of a few of our patients, considering no other identifying info was included and none of you guys live anywhere near this town?

This comes up because we have gotten a few new patients lately with really funny and/or unfortunate last names I wanted to share but wasnt sure if this was inappropriate.

Nahh I don't think it's a violation of the HIPPA act... It's not like you're stating medical history or anything! I remember I worked for a survey company when I was 16... this name pops up on my screen & I was speechless! Last name: FUKAMI First name: Shi
