Question about GTA3 for PC

Just got this game since it was $20 at a local store. Can someone tell me how to unlock access to the other "islands"? I've looked up some cheats but haven't found any way to do this. Do I have to play through a shitload of missions to get the bridge repaired, or can I cheat my way through?

sucks because of that? its rewarding, and gives you a reason to play thru the game instead of completely piss away your time.

gunsforall i believe gives all the bystanders weapons. It's mucho entertaining.

also iwishiwerearichman increases your cash. I can go look up a few more of these....
