I read up on Tnation about deadlifting and it said that the knees should be BEHIND the bar along with the shoulders, but you should find what place the hips are closest to the bar. They say that you must pull the bar up and back and that it is NOT at all an olympic lift where you start the bar at the shins. well in the starting strength book, they say that the deadlift is best when the knees are somewhat past the bar nearly touching the shins about 2 - 4 inches or something (i'm guessing an olympic lift setup..maybe?) can someone explain to me what is right and what is wrong?
EDIT: nevermind the 2-4 inches, the Starting strength book says they should be touching the shins.
