Question about bb routine

On an exercise that has 4 sets of 6, you start light and ubild up to your max reps of 6 right? So next week you do the same weight and try to get 7, and if you do the following week you go up in weight and try 6?

Or do you go up in weight first and maybe get 5, and do it until you get 6? Im not used to a bb split and never been consistent with one, and its not all layed out like the 5x5 so im kinda confused. HOw the hell do you get stronger on this routine lol?

i always try do get 8-12 reps.
but now im going to do it that way u described, gotta change things up.
sounds good

i would always start heavy. either pick a range and lower the weight as you go to keep getting the reps or leave the weight and just get whatever you can after the first. either way something needs to move up over time.

ok got it, so basically it doesnt matter what improves as long as something is improving. So for 4x6 deadlifts, you would do

385x6 first instead of 225x6, 275x6, 335x6, 385x6

I think it would depend on the total volume for the routine. You could just as well do four sets of six with straight sets and increase the weight once you hit all sets of six.

225x5
315x5
365x6x4

20+ sets for each muscle group, so i think that would be too much. i think ill just ramp up and if i can get 6 on the last set go up in weight and try and get 6 and do it until i get 6 then up the weight again.

That's some volume. I would ramp up the weights.

warm up then hit your set of 6 with either max weight or using weight you could only get 7 reps with, then either carry on with the weight next set and only get 3-5 reps or lower the weight and get 6 again, etc.

that is what I would do, one of those two options.

you could either set a range say 6-8 or whatever then adjust the weight down when you know you wont hit 6 on the next. or you could just leave the weight the same say your 385 x6 then 385 to whatever you get as long as its at least 1 for the final set.

did you stop progressing on the 5x5? If not, why are you changing routines?

I have never done a bb plit and stuck to it so how do I know if it works for me or not? I mean i have enough knwoledge to know what im doing so i know I will get results anyway. The 5x5 was great, I am just experimenting with this routine and see how it compares.

But as far as the 5x5 goes, I know I will be doing it again and will probably do a whole body routine for the rest of my life. Jus wanna check out the bb split for a solid 3-6 months and maybe reach some size goals and then its 5x5.

Bro what is your opinion of the 5x5? I will be bulikng after this cycle and thought of changing to that routine and see what kind of size I can add with it. Sorry to hi jack but had to ask.

I liked it a lot. 9/10. Just got boring thats why its a 9. 3x a week sucks, but the gains are sick. My weight went up a couple lbs. My squat went from 285x4 to 365x2. Bench went from 275x3 to 325x2. Deadlift went from 315x5 to 475x1

Sounds like exactly what I am looking for. Thanks for the quick response bro!
