Hello everyone!

I'm 39, 5' 4" and weigh 161.5. Per a bmi calculator online I'm at 27.6. I measured my various body parts and have that written down. It's rather disgusting so I'm not posting the measurements.

I'm not happy with me so here's what I've done so far and what my plans are for the future:

I started loosing weight in 2003 by changing my eating habits and parking at the end of the parking lot and/or taking the stairs. No real exercise plan but that change in diet dropped me from a size 16 to a size 12. Drink water all the time, limit soda's to 1 a day (if any).

In June 2005 I quit smoking cold turkey and only allowed myself a weight gain of 5lbs. So far I've managed to stay under that. My kids bought me a bike so I could ride instead of smoke. After dinner was/is the worst time for wanting a smoke.

I started out barely being able to ride 2 miles at a time every couple of days. Now I ride at least 10 miles almost every night and 20 miles on Saturday or Sunday. I love my bike. I can't ride the day after the 20 miler yet but I'm working on that. This has gotten me to a size 10. I now reside in plateau hell.

My goals are to look good, feel good and be healthier. I have the mental image of what I need to look like on the outside so that it matches how I feel on the inside. I don't intend on competing and I know that I won't be on the cover of a magazine and I'm ok with that.

It's time to kick it up a notch and I refuse to set myself up for failure. I've been researching weight lifting for months and bought several books on the subject: The body sculpting bible for women, body sculpting bible for abs, body sculpting bible express for women. Read them, studied, looked up stuff, read them again, etc. etc..

When I quit smoking I started eating 5-6 small meals a day. Took me a while to get the hang of that but now I don't even think about it, I just do it.

2 obstacles now gone: smoking & learning to eat 5-6 times a day.

Yesterday (9/19/5) I started using the 14 day routine from one of the books to get used to lifting and to make a new habit. I'm only using the 5lb weight because I'm just starting the routines and I want to concentrate on getting the form correct. Then out come the 10lb weights and so on and so on. (It's ok to laugh at the weight :lmao: )

I've copied several different diets and am working on getting a tailored plan together but I don't eat eggs. I think the main one I have is Daisey_girls' clean diet. (Thank you Daisey_Girl)

My current supplements are:
Pills: calcium, multi vitamin, flax.
Liquid: whey shakes.
(I take the flax pill every other night because it always sends me to the bathroom for an hour. When my body gets used to it then I can change dosage and/or timing.)

I'm doing all of this at home because I can't afford a gym membership at the moment. (Going thru divorce.....still....after 1 1/2 yrs....but that's another story. :p )

As for pictures, I'll have to dig some up as I'm normally the one behind the camera.

I've lurked but finally chose this site because you don't seem to sugarcoat much. You just tell it like it is and the information on this site is amazing. Thank you to everyone who shares their knowledge with weightlifting newbies such as myself.

I think I covered everything I'm supposed to per the sticky. If not, I apologize.

Now it's time to get busy - I don't want a zip code for my a**. ;)

Welcome to EF! We are here for you - whatever your goals may be!

Hi. I'm relatively new too and have found it hard at times already but I read the posts on this site daily and it helps with my motivation. You have definitely come to the right place. Good luck!

Sugar coating just increases cortisol. :)

Welcome & congrats on the amazing strides you've made in your life - obviously a bit of stress going on w/ the divorce and what not. But sounds like you have a firm grasp on the bull & still riding after the 8 second point!

Glad you found us! Post up and post often! You sound like an inspiration waiting to inspire someone. Maybe there's a newbie tomorrow who will be that person.

:)

Welcome! Glad you are here and congrats on the hardest thing...quiting smoking! The rest will be easy compared to that!! Gald your here!

I've successfully worked out 2 days in a row - woohoo for me :)

I had to deal with the ex (hereinafter referred to as "tardboy") last nite and didn't want to do anything when I got home but I did it anyway. Last nite was 2 sets, 18-20 reps of lying leg raises for lower abs & 8 min taebo workout.

I got up this morning and did the 8 min taebo workout again on an almost empty stomach. (I had some coffee.) I'm not sore but most of my muscles feel "tired." Since my eyelashes don't hurt yet I think I'll be ok. :nerd:

Tonight is 2 sets, 18-20 reps of each: dumbell upright rows, two-legged dumbell calf raises, dumbell curls & lying dumbell tricep extensions. I'll do cardio again, probably the 8 min workout and/or a bike ride since I didn't get to do one last night.

I fully intend on doing some form of cardio everyday. I know that 8 minutes isn't much but I'm working my way up and that particular video kicks my a** at this point. The bike rides are normally about an hour of constant peddling and most generally in the hardest gear to maximize the workout.

Ok that's it for now - thanks for the encouragement and the warm welcome !!

::lots of applause::

The ladies here know how to diet and workout. They also have manners.

Good luck.

Little late on the Welcome wagon ... :rose:

Along with your other accomplishments, seriously, CONGRATS on kicking the habit.

It took me until Jan 05 to begin to eat 5-6 meals a day and the results were absolutely phenom once you just ate clean and often.

There is always enough inspiration & motivation here to keep you on the right track.

and whip cracking :velvett: :)

Best wishes!

Black coffee sucks!I miss my fat free creamer and sugar.

Oh well, gotta do what I gotta do, it's not like the fat fairy "just appeared" and dropped off some extra tonage on my a** while I was sleeping. *rolls eyes at self*

I did the 8min taebo workout again this morning & although most of my muscles feel a little tired - I can still walk upright and I don't "hurt" so that's a good sign. :) (I know I have to crawl before I can walk....besides, while crawling I have a great view of nicely formed male backsides wrapped tightly in jeans - woot woot eye candy, motivational imagery, etc etc  )

I signed up at fitday and set my weight goal at 130 lbs by 01/01/06. This means I need to loose 2.15 lbs per week to reach that goal. The important part is that it's written down, it's solid, has to be done because it's now written in stone! (so to speak.)

I know that muscle weighs more than fat so the weight "number" won't be the driving force behind me - how I look when I look in a mirror and how I feel will be the key. Vanity Goal: single digit clothing

Tonights workout is ab crunches & probably a bike ride. I haven't ridden all week and I miss the song the tires sing as they glide along the pavement.....

I survived week 1 and lost 1.5 lbs. !!

It took me a few days to get used to the diet and to get it tweaked. I didn't realize how much I disliked eggs.

The first couple of days I felt like I was starving but using fitday to track everything I put in my mouth and physical activity helped me a lot.

Thank you EF for listing the link for www.fitday.com I've sent the link to some people at work that are "dieting." I told them to add weight lifting to their exercise regimin.

I still have trouble working out on a completely empty stomach so I have to drink a bit of black coffee before and voila' - no chucking schrapnel at 4:30am

I've successfully exercised everyday and today was the first day that I could do the full 55 min cardio routine without passing out. (New taebo fat blasting cardio dvd) I thought I had a decent fitness level due to all the bike riding I've done - - I was OH-SO-WRONG that dvd kicked my a** like nobody's business!

Now I'm really pi**ed at myself for being such a slacker and letting myself go. So here's how I see things: An obstacle is either a stumbling block or a stepping stone - the choice is mine. With that having been said; I pull up my hair, put on the exercise gear, grab the gloves and shout: bring it the F*** on!!

My apologies if that offends anyone but I'm on a mission. Thank you again for all the encouragement that I am finding on this site.

^^ Congrats girl on finding a way to kick start yourself!! Way to get it done!! Bring it!!! YEAH!!!

I didn't sleep well, I'm bloated, I didn't hear my alarm clock & I just don't feel good today. Mother nature us due for a visit. :worried:

Tuesday
6:30 am
Black Coffee w/1 pkt splenda
Supps:
600mg calcium,
multi vit w/ecgh (equate diet smart brand)
2 relacore

7:45 am
1 pkt low sugar quaker instant oatmeal, apples & cinnamon made w/water

1st day for using splenda in coffee & it seems to take the bite out of black coffee.

I can't have too much caffeine, ephedra or ephedra like products as they make my heart beat too fast and I can't breathe. I can't drink those "energy drinks" or take stuff like Stacker2. I need to "use up" the supps I have on hand before I buy anything else and since there are so many supps out there that it's very confusing - even reading some of the threads here I'm still "cornfused" about which supps I need to take in order to acheive the desired goals and to make sure my body has what it needs.

I understand that diet & exercise are the 2 main ingredients in the recipe of my physical transformation but from everything I've read, supps play a critical role in metabolic maintenance.

OK, enough rambling and e-whining for today..... :p

10:00am
1 Banana

11:45 am
6 oz tuna. water packed/drained
1 c cottage cheese w/Mrs. Dash Original
20 oz bottle of water

Great job :)

You just started this a week ago?

Maybe you could wait a bit before using fat burners (like when you plateau)

I would recomend Levorex from the AF store https://www.anabolicfitness.net/shop/product_info.php?id=96&cartID=efdb09a70ef7eceea00bf7132888d091
It will not make your heart rate increase

Is this what you ment by supps? Or were you wondering about whey, glut, creatine etc?

Yes.
I think I have a grip on whey, glut, creatine etc but there are so many supplements that increase metabolism or assist with fat reduction and those are the ones that confuse me.

I started this particular diet/exercise regimin a week ago but I have been working on loosing weight by quitting smoking and riding my bike.

I've already plateau'd and have been stuck at this weight (160lbs starting weight) for a while so that's why I am taking a different approach by adding weight lifting and a different type of diet.

I was doing a set number of calories 1200-1500 per day and I was starving not to mention that I wasn't loosing any weight. Now I'm doing 40/30/30 with my caloric intake between 10-12 times my current body weight (it's a modified clean diet from this site) I also have added weight lifting and more cardio to my exercise routines as my bike rides were the only cardio I had.

Perfect :) Nice work & Congrats on the weight loss & quitting smoking

Like I mentioned, Levorex is a non stim & will increase metabolism. There is tons of info / links on the board.

T-rex is a stim, but will help decrease appetite. There is lot's of info / testimonials on the board. It does not make my heart race, you could read up on what other peps have to say. If you consider this, start at 1 cap & see how you feel

YES (yohimburn ES) is a topical fat burner (again lot's of info on the board) What's your BF%? This is a great product for women (esp belly, love handles, butt, thighs.....ya know - the problem areas)

Glucorell (R-ala) "helps shuttle carbohydrates into your muscle cells instead of your fat cells by increasing insulin sensitivity and the uptake of glucose." (lot's of info on board & above site) You take 1 glucorell with every 30g carb meal.

Is this helping? Let me know - or post which supps you were reading about (that way I stop my blabbling & hijacking your log....lol)

Tuesday con't

3:00 pm
8 oz whey shake w/2% milk
1 lg bell pepper, raw (I love these!)
1 oz almonds

5:15 - 6:15 pm
10 mile bike ride

6:30 pm
4 oz boneless chicken breast
1 oz peanuts
1 flax supp
2 relacor

8:30pm
1 protein bar, blueberry

The supplement regimin that I am considering and researching is the
"Ultimate Fat Removal Kit w/Cardio Breeze, Glucorell, Cardio Breeze, Levorex, Yohimburn ES $145.00" via the AF store.

I figure if they sell them as a "Pkg" then they can be stacked or taken together. My major concern is wether or not I can take them. IE: are they going to make my heart race and make me short of breath? The other concern is that if I'm going to spend that much money on supps I don't want to be stuck with a bunch of stuff I can't take.

My major concern with supplements right now is fat burning and making sure that my body has what it needs to successfully loose the fat, gain muscle and remain healthy while doing both.

Yes they can be taken together, and should be if you're in a hurry to get rid of fat. The Cardio Breeze will actually make it easier to breath not harder. And it shouldn't make your heart race like an ephedra product would. You should do very well with that kit.

Glucorell is used prior to eating a meal with carbs in it. Take it 15-30 mins before eating said carbs & the Gluc helps the body to partition the carbs into your muscles.

I personally like to take Cardio Breeze 1st thing in the morning to give me a "kick start" to get my morning cardio done. I also take 4 Levorex with the 2 Cardio Breeze in the morning. My heart doesn't race nor do I feel short of breath. I feel more of an urgency I guess you could call it to do cardio - as in an internal "need" to do it. No jitters or anything either. And I've taken other fat burners like Lipo 6 & Stacker that gave me jitters.

The YES is a liquid topical ointment that you rub on before cardio on the areas you have stubborn fat - like abs, inner/outer thighs, butt, etc.....I've had no problems with applying the YES 1st thing in the morning along with the Levrex + Cardio Breeze.

Thank you Jenscat5 & Ulter for the information !!

To say that I'm not a morning person is an understatement. I'm very lethargic in the morning and it takes me 20-30 minutes just to get up and get going.

Doesn't matter when I went to bed, how long I slept or how well I slept. 20-30 minutes & large amounts of coffee before I even begin to resemble a functioning human being.

It's my hope that the aforementioned supplement regimin will help with my morning lethargy and I can get more exercise in during the wee hours of the morning instead of having to try and cram everything I have/need to do in after work in the evening.

Wednesday Food:

5:30 am
1 Pkt quaker reduced suagr instant oatmeal, maple & brown sugar
coffee w/splenda
1- 600mg calcium supp
2- relacor
1- multi vitamin

8:30 am
8 oz "ON Choc Whey shake - dbl rich chocolate" w/2% milk. (This stuff is good, tastes like chocolate milk.)
1 banana

10:30 am
1/2 lg green bell pepper

11:30 am (this is in just a few minutes..woohoo!!)
5 oz chicken
3 oz red potato
1/2 lg green bell pepper

IMO, Those 4 are my FAVORITE supps the AF store offers (if I HAD to chose of course :))

Glucorell & Levorex are overall GREAT health supplements in general, I take them daily for other health concerns as well as the fitness benefits.

Cardio Breeze is in a drawer right under my bed with 1 L of water...generally I set my alarm for 4:30 A.M., pop 2, lay back down, and within 30-45 minutes I'm up and ready to hit the gym.

This is money well spent on supplements that DO work. With a clean Diet & training your results should be GREAT.

Best of luck :)

I KNOW how you feel - I am the EXACT same way!! I used to need LOTS of coffee to get going - but since I've decided to compete - I can't have the creamer I like & I won't drink my coffee black - so I've had to give it up.

NOW - the Cardio Breeze BIG TIME helped with getting my butt out of bed & moving!! 1st thing when I get up & take the Levorex + the CB & by the time I get to the gym I'm good to go!! It really helps with the morning fog & lethargy!

1/2 of a "Pure Protein Smores Flvrd Protein Bar" (I like the blueberry better.)

I have bought protein bars for a long time and would eat one occasionally (prior to this diet). I generally buy one or two that are on sale just to try them. Some of the ones that I've tried in the past were just gross, however, the Pure Protein blueberry one tasted kinda like a blueberry poptart w/o the gritty chalky aftertaste that some others have had IMO.

I'll be trying just about every blueberry flavored protein bar that I can find in town until I find the one that I deem the best tasting........ :p

6:00 pm
4 oz chicken w/Ms. Dash chipoltle seasoning
2 cups brown rice
2 relacor
1 flax oil

On completely different subject.....I have red hair and green eyes and of course that means a light complexion - sunburn heaven. I was considering getting one of those "spray on or mystic" tans and of course the people at the shop said: "Oh nooooooooo you won't look orange....." uh huh, yeah right.

Anyone have insight on this type of tanning? I've tried the instant tanners and no matter how it gets applied I look like a walking ad for orangeglo and I refuse to lie and say I did it for Halloween.

Although I truely am doing all these things for myself but I do have an alterior motive.....I am meeting someone in person for the 1st time in Nov., he's been a very dear e-friend for about 2 yrs. we e-met talking about computer parts, (Yes Virginia, Que is a nerd.) we've gotten to know each other and have absolutely everything in common. We talk almost every day via inet or phone and we both have expressed a romantic interest in each other but we are both geographically challenged. We've seen each other on cam while showing off our new Nvidia cards, etc..
I'm hoping that when we meet >>>>>>> :busy: repeatedly, on purpose & for the love of all that's right in the world more than once. :p

I'm sorry, was with the ex for 12yrs & the last 6-7 he didn't want sex. Been separated 2 yrs cuz the retard wont sign the papers and apparently it's illegal to tie him to the back of my truck by his testicles and drag him till he signs, dammit.

Time to take the dog for a walk and then on to more cardio. :elephant:

LMFAO!!!!!

You are way to funny girl :)

Have you tried the mystic tan yet?

My bf owns one. There are lot's of fair people that tan there. I would suggest you do a level 1 & see how it turns out. I think you should try it (If you dodn't yet) - try it now & if it works get it done again for the meet-up

Any questions, let me know

8:35 - 9:30 pm
Taebo total body fat blaster dvd = 55 min closer to my goal. :)

9:40 pm
8 oz. choc whey shake.

I haven't tried the mystic tan yet - I'm a chicken - I'm afraid I'll look like a walking pumpkin.

*yawn* now I'm off to bed.....niters everyone

You are so funny.

I'm also quite pale and have tried a similar product to mystic tan. I had it sprayed on at the salon, just the lightest version of it and I thought it was great - not orange at all, just a "healthy glow". Many people commented and said it looked good. Just don't go for the darkest and only have one coat. No oompa loompa look for skins like ours.

ROFL @ Oompa Loompa's. Thanks for the information, Hopefully I can try the mystic tan next week....unless the grandbaby comes a little early, she's due around the 15th.

Thursday food:
4 egg whites (Kroger "break free" brand liquid egg whites)
coffee w/splenda & 2 tsp fat free creamer. (OMG I miss my cream & sugar)

I've always wondered just what type of person looks at a chicken and thinks:
"Hey, I wonder if I that thing that just dropped outta that chicken's a** is any good to eat........."

9:00 am
1 "Pure Protein Strawberry Shortcake" flavored protein bar w/20g protein. It's ok but I like the blueberry better.

It's a little hard so I put it over the top of my travel mug w/sipper open and the heat from the coffee seems to soften it up a bit. If the thermostat jockey would back off that thermostat or go on vacation I wouldn't have to find ways to heat a protein bar from it's frozen state.....and it's been sitting on my desk since 7:30am!

Que - mystic tan also has a spray self tanner for touch ups etc. It's called Perfection.

Instead of jumping in the both, ask the girl to spray you with some (like your stomach or back) to see how it turns out. That way you will know how your skin reacts with the product

Not sure if this is available in your area but I would try to find a non-self spray booth and someone to apply it for you.
Fantasy Tan

IMO, I def. prefer someone spraying me in lieu of the self spray booth. I have red hair, pale skin & freckles and still have some Mystic Sessions unused b/c I fell in love with FT.

For me, the tan, when it wore off, would freckle & blotch on its own, plus any of the following - use of YES, sweating from training, hot tub exposure (chlorine), ANY lotion with cocoa butter (AVENNO generally safe) etc. This is common with ANY self tanner of course, but makes me look like I have some sort of funky disease... which I find quite hilarious :D

PLUS FT is $$$ so Mystic is def. a cheap alternative with not 'as good' but 'sufficient' results.

It would take at least two tans for me to feel it didn't 'look weird'

Also using Mystic self spray booths, take special care in watching ankles, elbows, neck, knees and your hands. Sure they give you this 'lotion' to apply on such areas, but still it can look funky the 1st time.

I'm sure for any other skin type, this wouldn't be such a BIG issue, so I'm not knockin' it. Im a self tanning baby since I can no longer tan in the sun... Boo Hoo

P.S. If you want I'll PM you a pic after I got this tan to assess the orangeness from the FT ... :)

You can Click my sig if you wanna see how pale I am or go look thru my loggage :)

Big luv for you ladies!! Thanks for all the information.

I think I will ask for a "demo" or "trial run" on the mystic tan.

**Mother nature arrived & in celebration of that cranky heffers visit I am rewarding myself (for such good diet & exercise behavior these past 2 wks) by having a large mocha w/skim milk, whip cream & chocolate syrup. Yes, I have accounted for said mocha on fitday as best I could**

Today has now become cheat-(but-only-a-little-bit)-day!

1 calcium
2 relacor

9:00 am
1 "Pure Protein Strawberry Shortcake" flavored protein bar w/20g protein.

12:00 pm
6oz tuna, water packed, drained
½ c cottage cheese (4% milkfat)
1 c red seedless grapes
2 relacor

2:00pm
1 20oz Mocha coffee made w/skim milk, whip cream & chocolate....OMG sin in a cup.

3:00 pm
1 lg green pepper

5:00 pm
3 fork fulls of daughter's white sprinkle cake (No, I didn't use a serving fork.)

6:00pm
6oz Broiled Tilapia fillet w/lemon pepper seasoning.
2 relacor
1 flax oil

8:30 pm
2 tbsp natty peanut butter
1 menstrual migraine well under way
2 excedrin migraine
1 bed w/pillow & sleep mask
1 alarm clock
1 heavy object for use on alarm clock at 4:30 am tomorrow.

My daughter helped me with calculating the coffee and cake binge so that I wouldn't underestimate the portion size. Here are my guidelines and what I ended up with for today per fitday.com:

Calorie min/max: 1580-1896
Protein min/max: 158-237
40/30/30

Thursday's totals:
Calories: 1838.7
Protein: 158.19g = 37%
carbs: 173g = 38%
fat: 47g = 25%

Being the 1st menstrual day it should be my heaviest day weight wise - I'm going to weigh myself tomorrow morning to see approx. how much water weight I'm carrying. It's usually between 3-5lbs.......Then I'm dumping all the change out of my purse before I leave for work so that I don't hit the snack machine for chocolate.

Friday is going to be a very tough diet day.......just have to take it 1 craving at a time. Good thing I just bought some more sugarfree gum. :D

I feel like sh** today, each limb feels like it weighs 100 lbs. Unfortunately that's normal for me. *sigh* To top it off I woke up craving chocolate.

I weighed myself this morning - twice - and both times the scale showed 158.5 and if that's really really true it means I've lost a couple of lbs. this past week as I normally gain 3-5 during menstruation. If I didn't feel so bad I might be able to get excited over that.

Note to self: Hang in there 'cause it'll be ok :)

It seems that last night I forgot to cook chicken for today's lunch........ so I have grapes, green beans, peanuts, almonds and a bell pepper in my tote. I may not eat all of that but it's there......It's gonna be a long day. :worried:

Friday Food
5:30am
8 oz chocolate whey shake w/2% milk (to satisfy the chocolate craving)
2 red grapes (I was packing my lunch & they didn't fit in the container)
4 oz light ruby red grapefruit juice from oceanspray
coffee w/splenda & fat free creamer
1 calcium supp
1 multi vit
2 relacor

8:30 am
1 c red seedless grapes

10:00 am
1 oz peanuts
coffee w/a bit of half & half and splenda

12:00 pm
6 slices of Pizza w/garlic butter (about 2" wide slices that taper)
Unsweetened Ice Tea
2 relacor
1 map to where I parked the wagon so I can crawl my fat ascii back on it :(

Do you like tuna?

I always keep a few cans in my desk drawer (I forget all the time too!)

I also keep a few cans of the Stallone protein pudding at work - there is a lot of sodium in it, but 1 can = 100 cals , 20g protein, 1 carb , 1 fat.

I feel like crap. With the pizza binge at lunch and everything else I feel like a balloon that's only remaining on the ground because it's a high gravity day or all the iron in my blood went to lead in my a** and I can't lift off.

Most of the time I take the stairs at work unless I'm going all the way to the 3rd floor from the basement and then it's the elevator. Today after lunch I felt so stupid for what I ate that not only did I take the stairs all the way up - but I skipped a stair each time so it was like doing lunges all the way up. I have to mow the yard in about an hour and I might even mow the neighbors.........

I think posting in this journal seems to motivate me and helps to keep me focused. It's "written down" so it "must be so."

^^^ Got that right darlin...

Don't make me use this... :velvett: :D

Well the weekend was a nightmare & yesterdat wasn't much better. All in all I did pretty good on food. I didn’t get my water in and now that it’s getting colder I know I’m going to have a problem with that. I didn’t exercise much this weekend but I did spend Saturday mowing, raking & shoveling and then I rode my bike for 7 miles. Sunday was mopping, scrubbing, laundry, etc.. No exercise on Monday night as I had a visitor and I'm not sure about tonight because I have to get the truck cleaned up for the potential buyer. :worried:

I started using the reminder feature on my cell phone to buzz me when it’s time to eat or take a supplement and it’s working pretty well.

I dropped the Relacor because I should have been able to tell a difference while taking it and there was none. Imagine something like this not working.

After a discussion with my physician and the nutritionist my supplements are now as follows:

Flax - 2 per day morning & evening
Calcium 600mg - in the evening instead of early morning
Multi-vit – morning
Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) - 50mg- Morning. Dosage will increase at a later date
L-Carnitine – 3x day, 30 min before meals, to be changed to Acetyl-L-Carnitine at a later date.

I can tell the difference after just a few days of the supplement changes. I have more energy and I don't have to wear socks to bed now. I've had to wear socks to bed for-ever!

I’ll be posting food a bit later in the day, right now I'm looking for the switch that stops the world from spinning.....I wanna get off for awhile. ;)

EF thanks for e-motivating me!

Food for Tuesday:

1 LAC
1 pkg cream of wheat made w/water
1/4 c dried blueberries*
1 hard boiled egg - white only (the dog (Max) ate the yolk :verygood: )
20 oz coffee w/splenda & 2 tsp. ff creamer

*I put the blueberries in 2/3 c water and microwave for 1 min, then I add the cream of wheat and microwave again - the berries plump up after you nuke them.

10:00 am
1 cup red seedless grapes
1.75 oz roasted salted peanuts
20 oz coffee w/splenda & 2 tsp. ff creamer

11:30 am

I was supposed to eat 8 oz but I can't bare to swallow it. I love cottage cheese so I guess I'll just have to eat the "real" stuff and take the hit on the numbers.

Planned activities for the evening:
3:30 pm 'ish - run my ascii off getting the truck cleaned out, washed, gased up and ready for the potential buyer to fork over some bling and drive away while making me a very happy camper.

I need to mow the yard but I don't know if I'll have time tonite.

Re: Que's continuing saga

Wednesday
I'm running late again thanks to a 2nd shift friend texting me on my cell phone at 2:30 in the friggin morning and dorking up my sleep schedule. I didn't get to pack a proper lunch for today because I need to cook more stuff and was going to do that this morning. On top of that I didn't get to work out last night or this morning - - pent up frustration.

Payback has red hair. I know he sleeps with the phone close to his head - - I called him at 7:00 am

7:00 am
1 pkg cream of wheat
1/2 cup blueberries
coffee w/splenda
1 tsp ff creamer
supps

9:45 am
3 oz chicken breast
coffee w/splenda
1 oz half & half (for the coffee)

11:55 am

I'm also quite pale and have tried a similar product to mystic tan. I had it sprayed on at the salon, just the lightest version of it and I thought it was great - not orange at all, just a "healthy glow".

Quite a few people still think "sunless" means "orange" like it did in the old days. I'm a salon owner and can tell you the industry has taken every measure to ensure that the sunless systems and products are as natural looking as possible. One thing to remember if you are going to try the spray. EXFOLIATE, EXFOLIATE, EXFOLIATE!!! lol

Make sure you get all those dead skin cells off before you get sprayed. The top layer of skin is constantly sluffing off. To ensure an "even" application, your skin needs to have the freshest cells possible for the product to adhear to. Then, hopefully, the top layer again will sluff off all at the same time (usually not). When it does start to come off, be prepaired for a splotchy look. You will either need to get a "touch up" here and there or wait until it all comes off and reapply full body. It's for this reason that many people are unhappy with spray.

I'm sorry, was with the ex for 12yrs & the last 6-7 he didn't want sex. Been separated 2 yrs cuz the retard wont sign the papers and apparently it's illegal to tie him to the back of my truck by his testicles and drag him till he signs, dammit.

CRACK ME UP!!!!!!! Have you checked the laws about putting the testicles in a vice and giving them a little encouraging squeeze to get those papers signed? There's gotta' be a way!

I wonder if I could convince them that I was just testing the tinsel strength of some rope......muahhhhhhhhhhhhh :roadster:

That's probably the lowest carb day I've had and I did it by accident.

Well either way, great day for you :) You are eating frequently, made a great healthy choice and #'s look good :)

Thursday from hell

Thursday 10/06/05 started out wrong and hasn't changed much. I refuse to have another bad day!

My single guy friend called me at 12:30am cuz he was a little depressed and needed someone to talk to/vent to. Being the wonderful person that I am I stayed up and listened. I even sat out on the front porch in my jammies and stared across the street to see that he & his dog were sitting on the porch, he waved and continued to talk to me via his cell phone. I don't think he has many guy friends because I think he's slept with all their women or he's tried to. He truelly believes that he's a gift to women. No, really he does. The pictures in his house are mostly of himself. So around 12:45 am'ish he decided that maybe he should let me get back to bed. I think he should up his meds or go pop off some knuckle-children and de-stress.

At noon I went to get my daughters tire replaced. No-can-do because the rim is bent and I have to get a new one. Putting a new tire on the bent rim isn't a safe move. It's about the 4th tire she's popped by curbing them. Tried to take the tire off last night and couldn't find a jack, had to borrow one. The jack from her car is mia, the jack from the garage is mia & the jack from my other daughter's truck is also mia. WTF??? The jack fairy having a party and needed mine too? I finally got the tire off and threw it in the back of my truck, car is still sitting on the borrowed jack.

6:45 am
supps
coffee w/splenda & ff creamer
1 pkg cream of wheat w/1 pkt splenda
1/2 c blueberries.

9:50 am
1 med banana
more coffee

12:45 am
4 oz chicken breast
1 can green beans, drained w/pepper
1 blueberry protein bar
2 black cherry sugar-free jello cups (10 cals each!)

2:00 pm
supps

3:45 pm - planned snack of:
1 - 10 oz Blue Bunny Blackberry Creme Yogurt smoothie (cal:1067g, F:6g, Carb:5g, Pro: 13g) I haven't tried any of the yogurt smoothies yet & I hope this one tastes ok because I like yogurt.

I'm so tired, 2 nights in a row he's woken me up around midnight to talk. I really need to exercise so I can wake up and get a little energy flow going.

I'm already in bed when the phone rings....guess who. My depressed neighbor. We talk for about an hour and he tells me everything that's been bothering him and ask my opinions. I give him my opinions. I'm honored that he feels comfortable enough to confide in me but if he could do it BEFORE I go to bed it would be nice.

Re: Que's Grandbaby

My daughter and I walked around the mall last nite for 2 hours and then back labor started....we came home and she went to bed.

I slept (yea right) with 1 eye open all night and at 5:30 this morning we left for the hospital because the contractions were close and the pain was increasing.

Per the doctor she should deliver my 1st grandbaby sometime this afternoon or evening......I just came home to get a shower and share the wonderful news !!!

I even packed all my snacks and lunch for today so I wouldn't blow my diet too bad!!

Thanks for all of your support EF !!

The grandbaby arrived at 6:59 pm Thursday October 13, 2005!!!

Beautiful little girl that grammy had the joy of helping deliver. I got to help hold mom's legs.

First I could see some hair, I cried

then came the eyebrow that kept wencing, I cried

then that little ear popped out, I cried

then the dr turned her over and she cried and I got to see her face, I cried some more. She's perfect.

She's a quiet baby, only cries when she needs something, other than that she's quiet and peaceful and relatively happy.

20.5 in long

8 lb 4.6 oz

Grammy hasn't gotten much sleep since Thursday and I'm about to fall over....I think grammy duty is harder than mom duty.....or maybe I'm just getting old. :p

I was able to get away yesterday long enough to do an 8.5 mile bike ride, just too tired to go for 10 miles. I miss my bike rides. :sulk: (We need a bike riding smiley w/red hair)

My daughter is feeling better and isn't as skidish and scared when I leave the house and she's alone with the baby. A bit of post partum depression I think and she's an emotional creature anyway. Yes mom's, I'm keeping an eye on that.

I've been trying to eat "as close to right as I can" but it's hard because the baby still has her days and nites reversed. We're working on getting that fixed.

I miss my exercise time (never thought I'd say that) and I can tell when I've missed a scheduled feeding for myself. (ROFL) so things are starting to get back to something resembling normal and I'm more than ready to break out the taebo tapes again.....just as soon as I figure out where to put all the baby stuff that's in the way.

Thank you for everyone who keeps posting on their logs, it's helps keep me motivated to get back to the business of my transformation!!

Well I'm back at work and it's time to get back on track. With the grandbaby in the house that's even MORE reason to get my fat ascii back in shape.

It was raining this morning at 4:30am so no walking the dog. I'll try this evening when it's not raining. Here's today's planned meals/snacks/supplements:

5:30am
supps (2flax, ALA/ALAC, multivit, vit c) added the extra c due to cold weather approaching.
1 pkt oatmeal, reduced sugar maple & brown sugar
coffee, ff creamer & splenda

8:30am
4 oz carb control peach yogurt
3 oz cooked chicken breast

11:30am
6 oz chicken
1 c brown rice
1 chocolate deluxe protein bar

2:30pm
4 oz carb control peach yogurt
3 oz cooked chicken breast

5:30 pm- was shopping and didn't get to eat on time
7:00 pm - walked the dog for 20 minutes @ 1/2 mile

7:30pm
2 cups green beans, canned, drained
1/2 c diced ham (cooked in the green beans)
supps (flax, calcium, ALA/ALAC)

Mother nature arrived today & cramping is in full force - very annoying but I can deal with that. Somehow I've managed to pull a muscle in my chest over the course of the last few days and it hurts. That is going to be a problem as it impairs my ability to exercise properly and to the correct level of intensity needed to burn burn burn that fat!

Fat cells are worse than rabbits - - they multiply multiply multiply - they're EVIL EVIL EVIL I tell ya!!!

Congrats on the new grandbaby!!!! Sorry, I missed those posts somehow!

Give the neighbor a time frame when he can call and cry on your shoulder. That's just rude to call someone at midnight and want to talk about yourself for hours knowing the other person was sleeping!

I'm sooooooooo sleepy. The wonderful grandbaby gets up every 3 hours for food and even though mommy gets up with her at night... grammy wakes up every time she cries, moans, groans or grunts. I can't help it.

The last few days have been somewhat of a blur but somehow I managed to loose 3 lbs this past week so I'm at 155.5 now and still short at 5' 4". I'm trying to get back on track with dieting, exercising, reading posts, posting and tracking my food on fitday.com

My daughter is learning to follow a clean diet 40/30/30 so that she can loose the "baby fat" and she'll start exercising as soon as the "flow" subsides. She's now tracking her food on fitday as well.

See....EF is helping yet another person by being such a wonderful support tool! You help me help myself and my daughter.

Good job on the 3 lbs! ...and good for your daughter on her 40/30/30!

Re: Que's Journey continues

Well I'm back from vacation and although I didn't eat clean the entire time, I did make wise food choices while I was gone. Salad instead of pasta, etc. etc.. Oh sure I ate pizza, some chocolate and a few other junky things but I managed to keep those items to a minimum and I didn't stuff myself full of crap. Parked at the end of the parking lot and walked instead of fighting for a spot close to the door.

:worried: I gained about 2 lbs but I'm not sure if that is because of the food, lack of exercise, mother nature or a combination of those. Either way I intend on getting back on track this weekend. I don't have to cook this year for the Thanksgiving holiday so I should be ok with the food.

I finally met my Oklahoma friend in person - we've known each other for about 2 yrs and have become great friends. The chemistry was there when we met and now we are dating. :qt:

Time to get back to the business of reaching that "single digit clothing" goal :p

Thanks EF for being here !!

Re: Que's Journey

Well things have been crazy since before the holidays: birth of the grandbaby, daughter's MP graduation, Thanksgiving, Christmas, both daughter's getting ready to go back to school, the end of year madhouse at work & then on Christmas day I found out that my ex was in the hospital and has been diagnosed with a brain tumor that may or may not be operable. (After 2 yrs he still hasn't signed the final divorce papers so "technically" he's still my husband.) :worried: :worried:

Needless to say I've been a little distracted and haven't been working out or eating right. I've only gained about 5 pounds and I don't plan on gaining any more. 2005 didn't end well and 2006 isn't starting out right either. :worried: :worried:

I'm not looking for sympathy I just wanted to post and let everyone know that I haven't forgotten my goals or this site, I've just had to put them on hold to get the other stuff taken care of. I miss posting and reading the journeys of others.
:worried: :worried:

Ick, no fun.

May help to get to the gym and burn off some of this stress ... instead of eating ...

Keep your head up Q

Re: Que's Journey

Hello everyone – I haven’t been in for a while because life’s been a little crazier than normal and I’m trying to get back into something that resembles a normal routine. Part of that routine was posting on EF.

Here’s what the first 90 days of 2006 have been like:
Daughter 1 totaled her car on the way home from work. (She’s ok)
Daughter 1 moved into her 1st apartment & left my house a wreck.
Daughter 1 got sick.
Daughter 2 wrecked her car. (She’s ok & so is the car)
Daughter 2 broke up with the “the baby’s daddy” and it wasn’t pretty as it got physical.
Daughter 2 got sick.
Grandbaby has been sick for about a month. (She and mommy live at home w/me & everytime the weather changes it starts all over again.)
Mom got sick. (that would be me)
Dog got sick.
Truck is on the fritz with a fuel problem. (My mode of transportation)
Husband died on 2/26/06. (We were separated but still officially married.)

Believe it or not the list does actually go on…….
I figure since all this crap has happened in the first 90 days of the year, I shouldn’t have anything else bad happen this year. I refuse to have a bad year.

My diet sucks and the only exercise I’m getting is going up and down the basement stairs to do laundry. I have absolutely no energy to do anything. I’m just physically, mentally and emotionally exhausted.

I’m going to try and take a couple of days off work and de-stress, have a good cry, eat a little chocolate and drink a beer or two. Then it’s off to the grocery store to stock the kitchen with the appropriate foods so I can get back on track with my diet and with life.

With my daughters extra stuff out of the basement I actually have room to use the weight bench again. Yeah!

I’m not looking for sympathy I just needed to vent. Thanks for e-listening and remember: What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. (I’m considering changing my name to Herculina)

Wow, Que! Life has thrown you a couple curve balls, huh?!?!?!

You will get thru it. Just don't give up on yourself. That will only make you feel worse! How's the relationship going?

I'm not too into organzied religion ... but I put you on the Bunny prayer list.

Glad to have you back. VENT anytime you need to. :rose:

I love you guys!

The boyfriend has been very supportive during this time of madness, he's kind of backed off and just listened while I vented or cried or yelled or whatever it was that I needed to do at the time.

He sends cyber-hugs and/or phone hugs everyday. (He's in Oklahoma & I'm in Indiana - haven't seen him since November and not sure when I'll get to see him. :worried: )

Re: Que's Journey keeps hitting bumps

Well I hope the duct tape can keep me on the diet wagon..... This is the "planned" menu for the next 2 weeks. I figure this will help get my system purged of all that crap that I've been eating the last month or so.

I'm out of most of my supplements so I'll have to wait till payday to get more.

1 pk low sugar maple and brown sugar oatmeal
24 oz coffee w/splenda & fat free creamer

Snack
12 celery sticks

Lunch
6 oz cottage cheese
12 oz tuna, water-packed, drained
5 bite-size pretzels
18 oz Fuze Slenderize cran-rasberry drink

There's a new gym in town and it's offering a special rate of $12 a month for new members - so I let my kids know that I want a gym membership for my upcoming 40th birthday. I told them they could give it to me early since it was a special rate. ;)
