I'm going to tell you guys a bit about the new Fat Burner I'm coming out with.

It's called "PyroGenX" and is part of the "Anthony Roberts" line of supplements produced by Protein Factory. If you've got any questions for me, I'd love to answer them in this thread. Omega, Nelson, Primordial, BRR, and Triceptor (Carl Lanore) have all known about this product for months now, and I've sent them all the literature, because I respect and value their opinions. All of them were blown away by the study I sent (the full version of the abstract below). It's just a damn impressive product, and when my friends and colleagues tell me that they think it's good, then I know it will be. Also...remember, this is unheard of in the supplement industry...sending a copy of your research for your next product to people who own their own supplement businesses. But I wanted good advice, so I turned to good people.

Anyway...

It primarily works by Mitochondrial Uncoupling, via UCP1 (though there is UCP2 & UCP3 action as well). Think of it like a nutritional version of dnp - dinitrophenol - , which comes from naturally occuring sources. The primary ingredient is Fucoxanthin*. I've also added some other stuff I think is good, but you're probably only interested in the Fucoxanthin.

The dose I'm putting in PyroGenX is 500mgs/cap. And they're going to be bad ass liquid-caps, so they get totally absorbed, 100%. Anyway, in the study I have (thirty fucking bucks to buy the thing!), it shows that in the test animals, a 2% fucoxanthin rich diet (1-2 caps with each meal will get you there), the animals in the test group ended up with 15% less bodyweight and a 25% reduction in abdominal fat.

So I thought this would be a great product, contacted Protein Factory, and it's in production right now. Should be available by the end of this week or next.

Anyway, here's the abstract of the study which shows Fucoxanthin to do what I was just talking about:

Fucoxanthin from edible seaweed, Undaria pinnatifida, shows antiobesity effect through UCP1 expression in white adipose tissues.
Maeda H, Hosokawa M, Sashima T, Funayama K, Miyashita K.

Laboratory of Biofunctional Material Chemistry, Division of Marine Bioscience, Graduate School of Fisheries Sciences, Hokkaido University, Hakodate, Hokkaido 041-8611, Japan.

Mitochondrial uncoupling protein 1 (UCP1) is usually expressed only in brown adipose tissue (BAT) and a key molecule for metabolic thermogenesis to avoid an excess of fat accumulation. However, there is little BAT in adult humans. Therefore, UCP1 expression in tissues other than BAT is expected to reduce abdominal fat. Here, we show reduction of abdominal white adipose tissue (WAT) weights in rats and mice by feeding lipids from edible seaweed, Undaria pinnatifida. Clear signals of UCP1 protein and mRNA were detected in WAT of mice fed the Undaria lipids, although there is little expression of UCP1 in WAT of mice fed control diet. The Undaria lipids mainly consisted of glycolipids and seaweed carotenoid, fucoxanthin. In the fucoxanthin-fed mice, WAT weight significantly decreased and UCP1 was clearly expressed in the WAT, while there was no difference in WAT weight and little expression of UCP1 in the glycolipids-fed mice. This result indicates that fucoxanthin upregulates the expression of UCP1 in WAT, which may contribute to reducing WAT weight.

Nice! I was trying to find info on PyroGenX weeks ago and couldn't. I will absolutely check out protein factory and give it a run.

Are we saying that calories don't need to be cut or cut as low for effect? Also, would any similar sides associated with DNP be expected?

You don't have to cut calories and you'll still lose weight. Just make sure you are taking enough PyroGenX to compensate for having calories at maintenance.

This is really interesting stuff. I've felt for sometime that non CNS fat burners are the wave of the future. This looks like the first major leap in that direction. We may soon say bye, bye to stims.

Yeah...the problem with the CNS stuff is that after a few weeks, you can still get your money's worth at an all you can eat buffet, even after you take ECA or whatever.

I'm really, really happy with this product, and really excited about seeing it out there on the market. And then retiring from designing supps!

interesting, I'd like to see how humans respond to it, have you run any trials with people yet? got any testers who are trying it?

I'd like to know the same? And if ya need a human tester I've got my hand waaaayyyyy up! lol!

Had Anthony not ran with this idea I would have included the fucoxanthin in Primordial's next fat burning product. It should workout to be good stuff…
