i can afford the payments but

a) I don't have enough lump cash for the deposit/down payment

The m6 is funny as it is 10k more then the m5 but basically the same thing (carbon fiber on the top etc)

The rule of thumb is 20% is that max that should spent on a car monthly (includes everything from gas, payment insurance, upkeep) I personally think 20% is way way to high still. too high imp

There is no need to swing the payment to break your back. I used to be work for MB and I used see some many peeps sucking wind just to get the SL or the CL etc

Several financial companies offer long term financing on exotic cars. A place called woodside credit allows for 12 year loans. Who is going to keep the car for 12 years? no one they just allow someone to drive a nice whip with a low payment and the idea is use the money instead of paying down the car you invest and have your money work for you and your cash flow is not tied up and you can your nice whip and stay "fresh"

or if you have equity and you need to drive a big ticket car take a heloc. Tax deductions and $100k payment would be maybe $600 a month. again that is just an IO payment though.

You can pull a 2001-2006 E46 M3 (generation that just placed) for a good price. You pull a 2003 for low 30s.
