I to use my computer for MUCH more then gaming. I use it for work, for porn, for email, for information, to access Elite.

A computer is worth it.

But to turn a computer in a killer gaming machine you have to spend some cash on a decent video card.. and then the games. I am not saying not to do that, but the price of the XBOX or PS2 is paltry in comparison.

If I didn't play games on my computer I wouldn't even need HALF the ram I have.. I wouldn't need a 2.0 ghz processor.. I wouldn't need a 200+ dollar video card.. I wouldn't have gone with the high end 19" monitor.. etc.

To pay for my Xbox i'll just put off my computer upgrade for 6 months.

and yes, you can use your PS2 or XBOX as your DVD player!

I've had my fair share of bad experiences with the law,but I have to say I've been let go or given a warning about half the time..of particular note though is one night back when I was in my 20s I was out drinking with about 4 girls..we left a bar about 3 AM and were walking along the streets in Birmingham..when out of an alley 4 young blacks assualted as and started grabbing purses and necklaces etc,etc..I wasn't attacked,but the girls were freaking and 2 of the bloods had guns..and they were pointing them at me as I was the obvious target to mount any type of interception..one of the girls wouldn't give up her purse and she was involved was tug of war with the punk..I was screaming to Jill to give up the purse as I had barrells pointed at me..shit was starting to escalate when a brown plain Ford Taurus pulled up to the curb quickly and a cop jumped out..a single cop and those 4 boyz split pronto

You are close to convincing me to buy a PS2. Now just give me a list of games I might enjoy playing and we'll be in business. (seriously - all I've seen around are sports games... aside from a good, realistic golf game, I have no interest in sports games)

supernav, if your story is true, the cop should be fired regardless of your granddad. It is, however, very common for cops to ask if you have any weapons of narcotics with you. BS is right. You don't have to give consent nor do you have to answer questions. You attitude and demeanor, however, can be used to develop probable cause to search without your consent. If they have a dog present and simultaneously perform a free air search, your fucked.

Cops are like most people. They respond to people based on how they are treated. Yes, some of them are naturally ass holes just like some body builders, priests, salesmen, or any other profession. Sometimes they are just having a shitty day. Imagine having to put up some of the pricks on this board.

I was a cop. I served as a patrol officer, narcotics agent and a homicide detective. Now I'm a prosecutor. I am currently prosecuting two State Highway Patrol Troopers for falsifying reports. I have no tolerance for bad cops. I have removed a Chief of Police and a County Sheriff from office. I have no tolerance for dope dealers or other criminals and take great joy in locking all of them up and have no problem with cops asking the questions they need to to catch the shit bags. Oh, and many, if not most, of these dip shits give consent to search. I guess what they say that shit does to your brain is be right.

Just out of curiosity, I live in Alabama and have a concealed weapons permit, and at all times have a .45 handgun in my truck. I have been told by some that you are required to disclose this information to an officer when pulled over and I've been told you didn't have to.. Now I have never when pulled over been asked if I had any weapons in my vehicle either though... Now the confusing thing to me is I've asked a couple different cops I know and got and answers in each direction..

So "Legally" what are you supposed to do in this situation when pulled over whether asked or not asked about weapons?

Concealed carry laws vary from State to State. In Texas, if you are stopped, you are to present your Concealed Carry License with your DL. Additionaly, when the cop runs your DL it will indicate you have a CCL. If you fail to notify an officer that you have a CCL, you may be issued a citation and loose the CCL.
