Protein bars after expiration. Bad?

Is there any danger in eating protein bars after the "BEST BY" date? I have an opportunity to get a mess of them for about 50 cents apiece, but the date is Oct 2002. If it matters, they are Carb Solutions high protein for low carb dieters creamy chocolate peanut butter. 22gms protein and 2gms carbs.

They're probably ok in the sense that they won't make you sick. But I sure as hell wouldn't serve them up at your New Year's party.

I think you'll be fine.....I doubt it will cause any problems....
