We are developing new features for the boards and would like to know your thoughts.

Feature One:
If a certain number of Platinum members give a non-Platinum member negative karma -- the non-Plat member is banned for a certain number of days or possibly forever. The goal here is to share moderator power with you guys -- our best members.

Whoa, man. Fun, but bad idea...chat members ganging up on each other...UGLY.

Feature Two
Each Platinum members get his own discussion board under a heading "Platinum Member Boards" or something like that. This will be an option Platinum Members can enable in their Profile. A Platinum Member can moderate the posts on his own board. A Plat Member can choose his board's name. The board with the most recent activity will be the 1st board in the list of member boards.

Eh...I would think this could clutter things, but it'd be fun.

Feature Three
Platinum Members can customize their own titles. Don't like being a "Good Broly," pick a new title of your own.

Feature Four
New Skins -- with special skins for Platinum.

Eh...wouldn't use 'em.

Feature Five
A Platinum member who gets a friend to go Platinum, get's a free month.

Feature Six
We want to improve the picture system so members can opt to have their pictures rated in a system like: http://www.amihot.com/

Could be fun...wouldn't make me go plat if I wasn't already.

Feature Seven
We would like to be able to have a contest with members voting for a Mr. Internet and a Ms. Internet. This would need to work with the picture system. What would be the most fair way for this to happen. There will be a big cash prize.

I suppose that's cool for the bodybuilders among us...how bout something for the powerlifters and strongmen?

We would like to create a friendster.com style networks among our members. Please check this out: http://www.friendster.com/

Not familiar with it...will check it out.

Some other suggestions:

• Killing the plat chat popup on entry...would REALLY like that to not come up at work.
• Changing the title bar on expertpcsupport.com to actually say Expert PC Support so the button on the start bar looks a little more innocuous.
• Partnerships with other pay sites...like when you go plat, you automatically get a membership to other sites.

Feedback: Nothing there that would make me go Plat, in fact I think many would actually detract from the boards. Own boards? Customised skins? Custom Names? Members can ban? Hmmm, none are appealing. With this last one I can think of a few occasions recently where perfectly good posters would have been banned because others did not agree with their point of view. Are these discussion boards or what?

My problem with Plat is that once you sign up, I believe the policy is that if you want to downgrade at anytime, you loose your account. That seems harsh if your circumstances change and you can no longer afford payments. This prevents people from signing up for a trial to see if they like it.

Changing the title bar on expertpcsupport.com to actually say

I've posted up code that would do this for them in the past - I can repost it if they want.
Essentially it just looks to see what URL the user is coming in from and then outputs a different message into the "title" tag for the page.
You then just need to put that in the header code (I haven't seen the code for vBulletin, but I'm guessing that they don't repeat all the code at the top that is the same on every page - it is just an include file).

Well since i can't respond on the anabolic board even tho i am a plat...

first off... don't ever call me bro.

now on to the matters at hand.

1. karma should never affect a person's status the majority of people who cause trouble simply come back and do it again... get moderator's off their asses or give more people admin powers... it's not that hard to figure out when people come back and cause trouble.

2. Having my own board doesn't appeal to me... i'd just ban everyone from posting and have discussions with myself.

3. Custom titles is ok i spose.

4. New skins would be ok.

5. Amway is so cool... end of story.

6. There are far too many jerks here for the rating system to work properly.

7. Again a popularity contest... would be impossible to judge and no one would ever agree. Although i have often dreamed of people walking up to me at the mall and saying, "hey aren't you Mr. Internet?"

8. Why imitate a site that already exists?

Also i donate my platinum fees for the same reason i donate to other boards just to keep the information flowing. Also EF has some information that dates back quite a ways with a HUGE user base. There is data and info here that is nowhere else.

Not just for plats, but how about moving the Forum Jump from the bottom of the page to the top so that you can move between forums without having to scroll all the way down every time?

adjust #1 so that good karma from plats can override or prevent the ban imposed by the bad karma...this alone should bring board traffic way up due to resulting histrionics...

add another option, where we can force bodysaliva, yudgogay, spasticcolon, yellowsubmarine, or whatever his name is today, to return to the moniker "wodin"...

and MOST IMPORTANTLY, immediately turn satanic goatslayer's account back on!!!
