What if the banks or markets go tits up, and most of your assets are in stocks? Or a major catastrophe such as an earthquake or meteor strike? The only advantage you'll have then is better locks on your castle.

I notice how out of all my friends only the ones that advocate higher taxes are the ones that don't have to pay them. Yea, this pisses me off. I love telling them that I got a veterans disability settlement check monthly for $1300 which is just under what I pay a month in taxes... So the way I look at it is that I don't have to pay taxes anymore. This burns them up since I'm in better shape than all of them but considered a disabled vet

Would not, but that is not to say that people would not benefit from that taking place.

It depends on what you are looking for in life. I cherish safety, a nice jogging path, and a stream to fish in more than I do personal wealth.

Others have different motivators.
