Proper protein intake. . .

I don't know if this is the right forum but, what's the conventional wisdom nowadays on protein intake? Is it still 1.5 to 2.0 g's per pound of bodyweight per day?

Seriously, 1-2g of protein per lb of lbm.. Whatever you feel comfortable with, it's a starting point. More than 300g of protein a day is my sweet spot.. I'm not that heavy though..

I think what matters most is taking in a constant stream of aminos.. so having protien in your stomach every other hour has been the most optimal way for me to eat and see gains that make a difference.. right now im not doing that.
 
Yeah its a general guideline of 1-2 grams per lb of bodyweight. So you see you can easily double your protein intake from day to day which I recommend anyway.
 
i'm 225lbs right now. . .i try to get 1g/per pound on non-lifting days and 300g's is my target on lifting days. . .i'm sure that i'm more often over than under. . .
 
1-1.5 grams per lb min is a good rule of thumb IMO. Personaly I try to cunsume the majority of it in the form of sirloin steak or rib eye steak during the week with one 50gram shake post workout and on weekends I eat lots of fish/chicken.

16oz steak = ~50-60 grams

Why would you decreas protein consumption on off days? Your body needs building blocks to repair itself on off days as well bro.
 
1.5 - 3g per lb of bw ed regardless of what you do. carbs are different. the amount you need to grow depends on you, the source of protein, what you eat with it, and how many meals you break it into. i kept it at 3g once i learned how to eat effectively for growth and i grew beyond my own beliefs, unfortunately my heart has grown a bit to. now im praying it will shrink back as i eat an actual healthy diet and lose my mass. i am only eating 1g now and am slowly shrinking.
 
Not being rude but was the heart enlargement from high quantities of protein or steroids because I know they cause that but I've never heard of protein intake doing that.
