I don't know if any of you remember, but I posted my pic here a little over 50 days ago just before I got my weight set...

well about 50 days later now.. thought I'd give some updates...

here's the before pic...

Before Pic

and current pics...

Current Pics

any feedback would be appreciated, good or bad.. thanks.

It's hard to notice a difference because the poses are different w/different lighting. I'd love to say great job, so what was your change in weight, bodyfat, and/or measurements?

-casualbb

Well.. the good news.. you looked a lot like me when I first started.

The bad news.... you have a lot of work to do.

First, not related to your training, but you are the second person who I have seen today posting pics that has some pretty nasty back acne.... have you always had that? Do you do anything for it? I only ask because at any given time i have a dozen pimples on my shoulders/upper back and I am seeing a dematologist this month about it.

Ok, so as far as feedback..

I don't know what your specific goals are but I assume you want to put on some size. I am assuming that because you are extremely skinny. You are an ectomoph as I am.

You need to really sit down and plan a diet out.. you need some serious calories. I don't know how tall you are, but lemme just throw out 3000-4000 a day to start with. You'll gain fat, but you will grow muscle too (assuming your training is decent).

Do some research on this board on the best exercised to build lean muscle mass. Basically compound lifts... heavy lifts.. lower rep sets... lower meaning don't do 12-15 reps every set.. don't be afraid to throw down some 2-5 rep sets.

Two things you could do to instantly improve your appearance, assuming you are doing this for cosmetic reasons...
1)get a tan
2)shave your stomach and chest hair

It makes a big difference, trust me.

Brian

im still workin on gettin myself a tan, im 1/4 irish and i live in alaska so i dont tan very well. lol.

cool, thanks for the replies, I was 169 pounds in the first pic, and am 188 pounds in the other pics. about the back acne, I'm not really doing anything about it because it's starting to go away, my mom said she had it as a teenager and it went away by the time she was 20, I'm 19 now. anyway.. I'm 6'3 and I've been eating incredible amounts of food, I usually stuff food down my neck when I think of it. no junk food, just quality whole foods.
damn, you guys can really not notice a difference? maybe it's easier to notice difference when you look at the pics yourself cause you know what to look for. but personally I thought my pecs tightened up and grew, actually all my muscles have, alot harder now too, not so soft as I was once. anyway, I appreciate the feedback.

Like casual said, its hard to tell a difference only because the poses and lighting are so different. The before pic is kinda weird, so its hard to compare to the others.

One thing I did notice though is that for your height, you have decent bis. I'm almost 6'3" and my bis attach really long and look like crap. For your size, you have a good peak that will definately look good when you start piling on the weight.

hey, cool.. thanks thaibox, that was inspirational. ... I will continue to train hard, and hopefully reach a decent size over all one day. my bench, squat and deadlift have been going up rapidly, though my presses suffer (maybe I have bad delts by genetics..)
I dunno.

Go heavy and keep eating. I definately see an improvement. enjoy the journey.

I can deffinately see an improvement and this is just the start, 50 days is nothing you'll keep looking better as time progresses. I think you have a decent base to start with and 6'3" is a really nice height and you'll deffinately look built when you've reached your goal.

Well... it's guys like you that make inspirational stories. Unlike LeStat, I'd say the good news is you are starting at the bottom, so you should make some pretty quick and decent gains over your first year or so. There is no bad news. You can do anything... start with the basics... *broken record* diet, workout, motivation...

Don't get discouraged if you don't get a six-pack in the next month... or have bulging biceps... I started off at a 6'1" 160lb stick boy from Indiana... I know if I can do it, you can to!:)

Stick around the training board, pick up some good info from the brolys and sistas around here... impliment them into your workout... don't guess... use the knowledge you have and grow! :)

thanks.

MiniColemans, because of your inquery, I decided to put up some pics of my legs, so if you care you can recheck the current pics.

gonelifting, citruscide, needsleep, thanks to you all, you guys are inspiring me to keep training hard, every workout and eating hard. I really appreciate the feed back guys. thanks again.

coo, thanks dr. bones.. I'll probably post an update in a few months... I just watched pumping iron arnold video, damn it's cool.

As some others said, i can't tell much change from the first photo to lack of content. But, clearly you are going up in weight! I mean, from 169 to 188 is certainly a fantastic gain! And it doesn't look like you put on much of any body fat. From the "after" pics, i would say that you have the fondations for some great shoulder and bicep development.

Keep up the good work!

-Fatty

ahh thanks :) ya I was surprised how much weight I gained, and not very much fat gain either... even eating like up to 7000 calories daily at times, that'd be awesome if I had some incredible genetic potential like arnold :D

looks like you've made some progress.

also looks like you shave your legs, go ahead and shave the abs too :)

And is your pp sticking out of your shorts in this pic?

Aussie Juga naught: ya I'm real dedicated :) just finished a workout now.. pushed myself hard today.. really need to buysome more plates though..

AustinTX: thanks, hmm don't shave my legs, I guess I just have naturally less hair on them for some reason. I was gonna shave chest/abs but decided against it cause my girlfriend likes my hair I think.. or so she says. hmm. my pp isn't sticking out? dunno what part makes you think it is? maybe just my pubic hairs sticking out at the top of the pants.

I missed last workout, was feeling a bit sick. but in my workout today.. my god my strength felt like it shot up. I was able to work much harder.

I had originally planned on cutting some of this fat off starting april, but my girlfriend says she thinks I still look fine... so I'm gonna continue bulking till I look fairly fat. then cut some of the blubar off using a strict high protein/no carb/low fat diet.

nway. ya, thanks. bye

here's one girl's point of view:

don't cut...go for the gains, especially with your height. I just can't do the skinny guy thing...never quite did it for me! ;)

The weight gain is a good start. I don't see much of a difference in the pictures, but don't let that discourage you. If your lifts are going up, you're training intensely, eating like a horse and sleeping like a baby, I'd say you should look forward to some nice gains. Goodluck man!

nonerz: thanks, girls opinion is very valued :)

legion: I am and thank you for wishing my luck.

odd, my biceps look like they've increased over the past few days.
