Progesterone rebound effect?

Sexual Mustard

New member
Hey bros, I keep hearing about estrogen-related rebound effects after stopping Nolvadex. That's not my worry; I'm happy with Liquidex. I'm wondering about the gear that aromtizes to estrogen, i.e. Deca and Anadrol (which I have plenty of). Obviously my Liquidex and Nolvadex won't do shit except keep some of the bloat off. Sure, I've got plenty of Winny to occupy the progesterone receptors. But what if I'm done with the Winny? Has anyone ever had rebound effect after stopping winny and grew a nice pair of progesterone titties? My boobs are great--never lonely on the weekends, but I'd love to start playing with other girls' breasts again rather than my own.

Help! I'd love to hit the A-Bombs and Deca pretty heavily...

There should be no estrogen or progesterone rebound post cycle. First, men produce scant amounts of progesterone and second, there is little raw material for estrogen synthesis upon discontinuation of steroids. If our testosterone level is clinically low, then what is going to aromatize?

never had rebound effect with winny, but I did with anadrol, like right after the last cycle I did. Anadrol is hard to keep gyno away for me on and after the cycle. Have you ever done anadrol before?

thanks for the responses. Cockdezl, I have read where if one were to use Nolvadex, then it just binds to the estrogen receptors. Therefore the estrogen can't attach to the receptors--but it's still floating around in the body. But when one stops using Nolvadex, the estrogen that was previously floating around would attach themselves to the now-reavailable receptors. That's why I sometimes hear of people getting gyno a few months AFTER a cycle (and after Nolvadex). So that's why I was wondering if the same thing happens to progesterone floating around as Winstrol is helping to occupy the receptors until one stops using winstrol. I'm not asking specifically if Winny has a rebound effect--that I'm not worried about. It's winny's role as a progesterone-receptor-occupier, much like Nolva is to estrogen.

MikeyLikesJuice--Have used A-Bombs twice. First time no gyno, second time I got some titties. :)

SM, I would be very shocked that someone would get gyno MONTHS after a cycle, since estrogen would have been metabolized and excreted very early on. Estrogen is metabolized at a relatively fast rate. After the majority of the estrogen is cleared early on, there is little androgen materials to aromatize into estrogen.

The androstenedione studies showing very rapid rise and equally rapid decline in androgen levels are indicative of how endogenous steroids are metabolized.

I found this interesting study:

J Clin Endocrinol Metab 1984 Jul;59(1):103-107

"The influence of dietary protein and carbohydrate on the principal oxidative biotransformations of estradiol in normal subjects."

Anderson KE, Kappas A, Conney AH, Bradlow HL, Fishman J.

Dietary protein, when substituted for carbohydrate or fat, can increase cytochrome P-450-dependent drug oxidation rates in humans. Endogenous estrogens, as well as drugs, are also metabolized by cytochrome P-450 and other enzymes in the hepatic endoplasmic reticulum. Therefore, it was of interest to determine whether variations in diet can alter the major metabolic pathways for estrogens, as assessed by radiometric methods. Eight normal men were fed a high protein diet (44% of calories as protein, and 35% as carbohydrate for 2 weeks), followed by a high carbohydrate diet (70% of calories as carbohydrate and 10% as protein) for an additional 2 weeks. The fat and total energy contents of the two diets were equal. The percent oxidation of [2-3H]estradiol, measured as 3H2O released, which is an in vivo measure of 2-hydroxylation of endogenous estrogen, was greater in all eight men during the high protein dietary period than during the high carbohydrate dietary period (44 +/- 3% and 33 +/- 3%, respectively, means +/- SE, P less than 0.005). In contrast, 16 alpha-hydroxylation of estrogen, as measured using [16 alpha-3H]estradiol, did not change significantly. Our findings demonstrate that dietary components can alter estradiol oxidation in humans and that the 2- and 16 alpha-hydroxylases for estrogen are under separate regulatory control. The influences of specific nutrients on estrogen metabolism may have potential significance for diseases in which these hormones may play a role in clinical expression.

P.S. Unfortunately this would apply to testosterone levels too.

Cockdezl I have to agree with you here, but when can I ever disagree with you :D Just curious so many people have complained of gyno 'like' symptoms after running a winny only cycle and after the cycle has finished (not during). I understand about this not being in theory but is there any explanation you can offer (apart from they were not really on winny)

Peace

Some people get gyno after discontinuing of Clomid...something to think about.
Anyway, even I don't think, that estrogen rebound is impossible, but have to agree that progesteron one is. Testosteron converts to estrogen via aromatisation, but Deca or Anadrol don't convert to progesteron, so you can't see the analogy there.

IRON, I really don't know. As PANERAI, stated its not impossible, it just doesn't seem to fit the biochemistry. Possibly the receptors are becoming sensitized or an upregulation is occuring, etc.

What would help out our understanding of this topic, would be for any members who have had post cycle hormone levels tested, to put them on the board so we could look at the alterations and try to determine what is going on.
