Problems with Ebay: advice please

Ok few weeks ago I sold a Steering wheels with pedals to someone in North Carolina for about 45$ through Ebay. Everything was in perfect condition. No bugs at all. Now the guy sends me an e-mail saying the Steering Wheel isn't working at all, but the pedals yes. He says there's nothing broken.

Now how should I deal with this. It looks suspicious since the wheel was ok here before leaving and I got a pic of the wheel taken by him and as I said, it looks perfect from the outside.

Tell the guy that, He should have asked more questions specifically about the steering wheel-- heck, it may not even be the right kind for his car-- but, it's really his problem. Not yours.

Check out the Ebay's Terms of Agreement thingy-- i'm sure it says something about that in there

this sometimes happens on ebay, there's nothing he can really do about it besides give you a negative rating.

so basically I'm under no obligation to give him a refund cause Ebay's rules are pretty confusing.

you can if you WANT TO, but really there's nothing he can do, especially since you live in canada. people buy and sell shit that's broken all the time on ebay. I wouldn't be surprised if he turns around and sells it to someone else.

That sucks bro. Tell him your an honest bro and it worked when you sent it. If he still bitches i would tell him to send it back. Chances are it works and hes trying to fuck you or that he doesnt have it installed right.

He can put a negative evaluation on your file... a problem if you intend to sell again... but you don't have to send the money back.

My girlfriend has a friend who is an active seller on E-Bay. She has people try to scam her sometimes by claiming the product arrived damaged, etc... when she knows it didn't. (That's why she photographs the items just before shipping.)

I could answer more if I could figure out what the Hell a PC steering wheel with pedals is. :)

I've had several bad Ebay experiences. Just like the real world. Guy I'm dealing with right now has gone 4 days without responding to my email asking how the shipment was progressing.

If you give a bad seller a negative rating, they will also give you a bad rating so the rating system is largely a scam.

Well he already gave me positive feedback as soon as the package arrived, but 5 days later he sent an E-mail complaining about how the Wheel wasn't working on his computer. Man could be his USB connections, his registry, WIn XP (i was using Win98), his fuckin computer itself.....

Look, I took an insurance when I sent the package, but how am I going to ask Post Canada a refund if the damn doesnt even have a scratch on it.

Im going through a similar situation. I sold an in dash lcd screen to this guy in ohio. When he got it, he said the wires were ripped and he wanted his money back. I told him no fucking way. He went further sending a different broken one back to me that wasn;t mine.

My lawyer said there is nothing he can really do unless he wants to sue me... But since he is engaging in fraudulent activities its not likely.

Only thing is, i dont know whether to send him the broken one back or keep it and fix it and resell it
