Has anyone ever tried to ask a mod or admin as to whether or not any board games could be added to the gaming rooms ? Mainly the game of CHESS ? Mods feel free to move this post if need be or forward it to whomever it should go to. Thanks

We already have games and a karma casino.

I don't think there are any plans in the works for more games.

What kind of games do you mean? There's a link for a number of games here at the top of the forum screens.

If you mean something like chess, which I've only seen physicsforums.com integrate into their vBulletin subforums, it's something that I think would make an awesome addition to EF here. I'm not sure how much work it'd take to add on, though.

I am 100% for getting Chess here! That shouldn't be difficult.

I think physicsforums.com got rid of is some time ago for some reason or another... may have had to do with vBul upgrades. I dunno.

But it was awesome. You went to a Chess subforum under their General Discussion (C&C) board, and it was kind of like the bookie forum here -- a thread starter in the Chess forum started a game, and accepted another poster who wanted to play against that person. Each game was self-contained in a single thread. There was no time limit; you could each make a move or two a day, or just straight play each other like a normal game. And, like a normal thread, others could click on it and see who's winning and stuff.

Really neat stuff. I don't know much about vBulletin, though, so I have absolutely no idea if this is an easy add-on, something that requires programming time, or something that would have to be purchased on top of everything else.
