priming the stretch reflex

i have seen a few references to power lifting, and the ability to prime or hold the stretch reflex under a static contraction. what are some good ways to learn this for bench, squat, or any other motion? pause reps or what? im really new to devoting lifting for pure power.
 
using bands for accomadating resistance and holding for a 1-2 second pause at the bottom with band tension still on the bar, while staying tight/flexed, should work that area
 
I agree about the bands. They are wicked on the body after a period of weeks though.
