PRIDE vs UFC

He is listed at 213... making 205 would be a breeze. I do think it would be a killer fight. Chuck hasn't been challenged in a while.

Well... he was challanged last time he fought in Pride in the middleweight tournament, where his ass was handed to him by Quentin Jackson, who was later crushed by Silva. There are more good fighters in Pride in almost every weight class.

Yeah...and Silva got crushed by Vitor, who lost to Tito, who has his ass handed to him by Liddell. Different matchups at different points in a given career....It's fun to speculate, but it's all a moot point until the fight actually happens.

On a side note, in the Liddell-Rampage fight, I thought it was funny listening to Dana White as he was watching Liddell take a beating. Of course, Dana was quick to blame it on Chuck not executing his game plan, without much regard for the fact that Jackson pretty much kept him from executing anything.

Agree, with most of what you said, except, Chuck was at the top of his game when he fought Jackson (only a little over a year ago). The Belfort/ Silva fight was like 8 years ago. Silva is a much better fighter now. But, you are correct, in a given fight, anything can happen.

Chuck was not at the top of his game. This fight was 3 years ago the same year he lost to Randy. And we all know whats happened in 3 years....right Randy!!!

I won't argue that Silva is much better now. But I would argue that Chuck is at the top of his game now as well. The Jackson fight was in 2003, prior to Chuck manhandling Tito and knocking out Couture the first time (match 2).

Yeah the difference between chuck then and now is not as near dramatic as the difference in Silva then-now.

In the end, I was playing devil's advocate here, and I honestly think Silva has a great chance of beating Chuck. However, Vitor doesn't hit as hard as Chuck (alot faster hands though), so I would say there is a fair chance Chuck could catch him with a good shot or 2 and KO him.

Bottom line, I'd like to see the fight.
