Pride 'Real Deal'= Real Lousy

I've long been a staunch supporter of PrideFC's superiority over the UFC. Embarrassed, I admitt last night's show sucked ass. I didn't even bother to foot the money for the PPV. Just looking at the matchups, I knew I would be in for some serious boredom. The only matches I have left to see are the Nakamura and Barnett matches.

Pride's recent Open Weight GP was one of the best show's I have ever seen. Why couldn't they carry this momentum into their inaugral USA show? Pride, why hast thou forsaken me?

I think you nailed it there. How can Pride make a statment about some of it's top guys who all of the casual mma fans in the US have never heard of?....feed them some guys that on paper they should run through and that US fans would recognize from their previous careers in UFC. Coleman, Randleman, and Vitor all fit those roles nicely.

I think this Pride event was much more about introducing it's fighters and testing the US audience's interest moreso than trying to have some of the top matchups that they could schedule.

well, the introis annoying
as wsa that what, 30 minute intermission at one point, wtf was that
but I did not think the ppv was bad
didn't live up to the hype of all the guys that say pride is way past ufc
but it was a good ppv
worth the money, especially since someone else paid lol

I did not think Vitor failed to win a single round tho
I really thought the first round went to Vitor
and whoever made it 3 10/8 rounds, no more mma judgeing for them...

Vitor got his ass absolutely whipped. Round 2 was Vitor's best, yet he still did next to nothing. Henderson just carried him less. I gave Henderson all the rounds 10/9. Giving Henderson all the rounds 10/8 though is extreme.

I finally saw the Nakamura fight. Does that guy bring nothing, but action or what? I haven't seen him in a boring fight yet.

Nastula got a raw deal. They stood him up in the 1st round while he was doing some G&P from the side and working a straight arm bar. Barnett slipped on a heel hook at the end of the round then cranked it after the bell and injured Nastula. I lost much respect for Barnett in that fight. Pride should stop fucking Nastula as the guy has lots of potential, but they keep over-matching him.

or at least a warning from the Ref
and the stand up WAS total BS
but I still think Vitor won at least one round

oh and the bringing the crying kids into the ring, if I was a Pride higherup I'd have been like no, absolutly not no children under any circomstances
particularly crying ones

I kind of felt sorry for fedore having coleman put his kids in his face after the beating he gave their dad.
