Pressing the bar unevenly

Whenever I try to press the bar on incline or flat bench I tend to come up with the other side higher than the other. What could be causing this and how can I correct it? I think my arms are of equal length.

I do it too sometimes. I think it's just an imbalance in strength between the two arms. I've been trying to correct it by using dumbbells. Whenever one arm fails, i stop even if the other arm can keep going.

Dbells will help a little. Going lighter, and focusing on correcting the form will help even more. If you have one side stronger than the other, then try some single-arm lifts for chest on chest day. Same for Tris. Same for shoulders. Same for Back. When I say "single-arm", I mean single arm. One arm at a time. For chest, you can do some 1 arm pressses on the Hammer Strength machine, assuming you have one at your gym. Tris: you have a lot of choices with one arm cable movements. Pick an attachment. Shoulders--1 arm presses on the Hammer Strength. Same with single-arm side laterals on a cable.

I've got some hardcore lifters at my gym who actually put every 45lb plate on a scale and wrote on it with a Sharpie if it was over or under. You would be supprised at the range of weights our gym had in 45lb plates. Some were 2.5lbs heavier and others were 3lbs under. If you've got 2 or 3 plates on each side that could be a noticable difference. If the weight isn't balanced then that could be your problem too. Just something to think about.

Shit that got me wondering Nice post that much of a difference? Im over 5 plates a side on some lifts almost 6 on my hack lift that could be a huge difference strange though I only have the uneven problem on my flat bench though figured it was just one side stronger then the other interesting
