Pre-Workout Supplements

In the bodybuilding supplement industry, pre-workout supplements are becoming very popular. The main supplements that are usually taken prior to working out are caffeine, glutamine and amino acids. These products are intended to help prepare the bodybuilder for a workout and assist in muscle strength and endurance.

Caffeine is a stimulant found in coffee, tea, soda and many other common beverages. Many people get caffeine by drinking these beverages every day, however, it’s also popular in supplement form. Athletes and bodybuilders use caffeine to increase energy levels, reaction times and alertness, as well as endurance. Used prior to a workout, it helps them perform better and stronger.

Glutamine is an amino acid that is common in most protein sources such as meat, poultry, fish, beans and dairy products. It is used in the body to maintain optimum performance. Body builders take glutamine supplements to reduce the amount of muscle deterioration they experience. It is often taken before a workout to ensure that the body’s glutamine levels do not fall and muscles can remain in the best condition possible.

Amino acids are the essential building blocks of protein. When you work out, you need these to assist your muscles to grow. The more stress you put your body through (harder your work out), the more amino acids your body needs because it will not have enough from natural sources. This is where supplements are so beneficial, especially before a workout, to make sure your body is fully supplied with amino acids prior to working out.

Caffeine, glutamine and amino acids are popular to take before working out; however, Nitric Oxide is now seen as one of the most important supplements to take before a workout. As a pre-workout supplement, Nitric Oxide is extremely useful. Since it forces more blood into the muscles, it provides the muscles with more nutrients that they need for a faster recovery during and after working out.

Creatine is another supplement that is often added to pre-workout supplements nowadays. Creatine is naturally found in meat sources and is also produced by the body. Taking a creatine supplement helps your muscles have more energy when you’re doing brief, explosive exercises. It may also decrease muscle fatigue and reduce lactic acid. For all these reasons, creatine is a very popular ingredient in pre-workout supplements.

As with any supplement, be sure to read the labels of any products you’re interested in. You may want certain ingredients while prefering to omit others, depending on your body and your goals. Remember that while pre-workout supplements may all be designed for the same purpose, they can produce different results depending on their makeup.

Meaning, the future of pre-workout supplements. Try it bro. Smash your pbs. I did and keep doing it from time to time. And no, OMEGA ain't payin me to say this

By the way, i'm still using the old version...can't wait to try out the latest one...

IMO it's very hard to beat lipostim3 early in the morning and amplify02 pre-workout. I've tried different combinations for years and it's by far the best I've found.

P.S. Since lipostim3 doesn't have caffeine now, you can always down a cup of coffee or some other form pre-workout. The great thing about it being caffeine free though is if you're planning to rest or even sleep post-workout, it won't be an issue. I've reached the point that a good post-workout nap is as important as a good workout.
