Power Clean F**k-up

LOL!!! I went in the gym and decided to do some Power Cleans. I set up a weight 5lbs more than what I did for 3 reps before.

First attempt... Got it up but couldn't keep it tucked over my arms...Guess I gotta "jerk" more.

Second (Last) attempt... Stiff back, tense grip, focused... Got it up, got below it, but my legs were in front of me... I Slowwwwly leaned back and fell on my ass, most of the weight landing on my left elbow and wrist.

LOL i just think this is funny, BUT DANGEROUS!! Thought I broke my wrist

This is an example stupidity, people! Warm up correctly! I wasn't able to lift what I could've done last workout, this could apply to anyone! Work your way up!

Agreed.

When the lift has gone sour, escape... push the bar away from you jump back, ect... having the bar land on you is never good.

Sorry, I was trying to get my post in 60 seconds before the 9:08am (UK time) scheduled downtime and couldn't think of a simpler word. :)
 
I have to agree with AB, consider safety before making a gym lift. In the real world you might have to rush something but never rush into a gym lift.

Tits up is a shade better than arse over apex.
 
damn it's been 8 days since this happened and my wrist still kills. Now, thanks to you guys, I'll bail if something like this happens again.
 
You may need to get one of those medic alert brachlets incase you fall again. Everyone is getting them now. :)

Always saftey first. You could have easily injuried yourself there. You should be doing them somewhere that can ditch if need be. Hell even ditching in a regular commercial gym would be better than hurting yourself. Hardcore gyms don't care.
